I just purchased this FQ bundle (14 pieces). I was planning on using them to make a baby quilt for my daughters friend but when I got it I realized all the colors run together. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make them work? I was thinking of bigger square blocks and make it scrappy. Originally I wanted to make pieced blocks but I can't do that without buying more solids. Maybe I just answered my own question.
Those would look great cut into squares...maybe 5", and then sashed and bordered in 2 1/2" white. Let me find a picture somewhere. That would be a sweet baby quilt. You could even piece the leftovers for the backing.
What color solid do you think you'll get? I think that would calm the busy prints but i don't know anything about quilting. Maybe the word is balance.

this is cute...
Jeanine and Is2116,
I think you're right; white sashing would tone it down and allow the eyes to rest on the different squares.
Not finding what I started looking for but here is another one that is cute.

Maybe pink or yellow?

Very cute, Jeanine. Amazing how the white sashing brightens it up.
Here is one like I was thinking...

I agree with Jeanine, the white sashing would make a beautiful baby quilt!!!
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
Jeanine. That baby blue quilt is so beautiful. I think I can do that with these FQs. Thanks for the suggestion. I was even thinking about adding 6 more FQs solids and trying Nanas MQ 7.
All three of these are gorgeous and would work really well with those prints. The white really does make the colors pop!
I was dabbling with my fabrics. Which one do you like best?
Annie I love the bottom one . the little squares really inhance the top. IMOO
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
Barbara, I too like it, but am torn because I really like the pure baby look of the other one with more white.
I can't make up my mind, Maybe it will come to me as I put it together...
