Carol yours and Max's blocks look great. That's how mine are coming together, I just add strips as I come to them. I'm half way thru mine. 40 blocks Max you sure have been busy.
Another busy bee Jeanine the quilt is very pretty. How many blocks from your group do you need to make a top?
Thank you Marie, Barbara, and Bonita for your kind words! I'm always kind of afraid someone will open the package, take one look at my blocks and say "Who made this mess?" and hurt themselves laughing! Maybe that comes from DH looking at the design board and saying "Did you intend for them to NOT match?"
Bonita, I think the plan is for a quilt top to have 42 blocks...a 6 X 7 block layout. But please don't quote me! I'm just making them one at a time. I figure just about the time I get pretty good at this I'll run out of scraps...but that was my goal! A side benefit is I'm using up lots of partial bobbins of thread of odd colors. I'll be able to refill them with my preferred neutral colors now!

Barbara: Jeanine ,Have a question for you ,How are you incorporating the labels on your quilts , are you just stitching them on after you have the quilt finished or are in putting them in the actual backing.? I was not real sure how to do that. thanks .Barbara

I was thinking of sewing them into the backing fabric. I will do anything to avoid hand stitching! I will probably add a border to them so them will all be the same size and then make a row of them in the backing.

You need 42 blocks for a quilt. I have 30 but 20 more are in the mail. Then I just received an email saying one of my block makers dropped out but didn't tell me which one or if they would be replaced? So I will need to follow up on that.

I only signed up for 10. If I make more will have to be asigned another leader. I guess I'll make them until my strips run out.
Max, your blocks have such even strips, looks good! Guess they will accept mine, they need them all, uneven or not~~I will just keep making them until I run out of scraps (which will be never, so until they tell me to stop!) Oh, I got my team leader assignment today - I will be sending them to Nepean, Ontario. I see they want us to only make 20 at a time, then have to re-sign to do the next batch with another team leader assigned. The people doing all the coordination have a job for sure! I got my niece and daughter doing rag quilts last night. They are go-getters when they want to be.

Any advice or is that the wrong age to be hopeful? I have tried with her right along from the time she was pre-teen but no luck yet.

I think 16 is not a time to push it. My niece is 17 and she goes along with us but doesn't do much on her own now. But she has had it all around her growing up and knows how to do just about everything. Find something that she may like such as an iTote or hobo bag that may appeal to her more. Traditional quilting isn't exciting but my girls love to put their own spin on their projects. I never criticize. My daughter didn't quilt during her late teens but came back to it after she got married.
