Thanks Patti, Kris and Marie. I'm just excited all my cutting calculations worked out!
Finally, here are my blue MQ 7s.
Now I can continue on with Bonnie's Easy Street , a New Year's Eve mystery I have partly done and the About.com's New Year's Day quilt I need to dig out fabrics for.

Pretty Marsha, I really like your blues.
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
Ooo, I love both of them. I'm a big sucker for blue and white quilts and those are beautiful!
Marsha, they are beautiful! My personal favorite is the bottom one, love the on point setting!

Hi foxfiredee, it is nice to meet you.
Marsha, both are beautiful but the second one does have an interesting look to it.

Thank you Marie and everyone else for your comments.
I can't remember who decided to cut the squares on the diagonal (after trimming them to squares), but many of us tried it. After cutting a few, I wasn't so thrilled with it, but after adding the white borders and the triangle border, I fell in love with it. May do it again in a colorful version. I wanted to add a white border on the other quilt, but it would have been much too large for use for wheelchairs. It is larger than I usually make now. Cutting the blocks on the diagonal and rearranging and reseaming them made the quilt narrower and shorter (the extra seams) so made it smaller and perfect for wheelchairs. I made HSTs from the 2" strips we had left and used them for the border. I should have left the block border off the first one and then It would have been the right size, but it needed something more, so here it is about 3 inches wider and longer than desired.

These are beautiful. I love them both and would definitely give one a good home. LOL>

Just getting around to reading a lot of posts -- Nancy, the swirled fabric caught my eye immediately and I wondered where I could get some ... I thought it went wonderfully well with the quilt, and "spilled paint" is a perfect name!
