Finally finished MQ7 top after setting it aside for christmas gifts and a pay project. I added a thin black outer border to match the border on the insert. I am sure it is too late for the judging but there are so many quilts that are much prettier that I would have a chance anyway, but this newbie quilter is pleased with the outcome especially that I was not really into the patter at the beginning. I might add another black border before the binding, but that will be in the future. I love to piece, dont like the quilting because I dont have the equipment for it.
Thank you for all the kudos. There was always something else that had to get done to keep me from finishing... very frustrating!

Hi, Just wanted to jump on here and tell everyone that their quilt are great. I havent been able to log on here. Well it lets me on then kicks me off. I finally figured out that it has something to do with my new laptop. But by the time I figured that out, it was the holidays. so hopefully I will figure something out tomorrow.. As for my mq. I didnt get it done. I have all the material picked out and sitting in a bag. I decided that with everything else going on I just couldnt get it done. So, I am going to work on it next year I think. I did get my craftsy BOM done and the DDL loves it. I will post it here so I dont feel left out. then back to the other laptop and try to figure out what is going on. Merrry Christmas everyone

It's beautiful Debbie. I really like your corners.
ls2116: I didn't know there was judging on the MQ????
There's viewers choice. The winning quilt becomes the photo for the group.
Thank you, Kris
Walla, your quilt turned out beautiful
Donna:Finally finished MQ7 top
I love the way you used the panel in the quilt, Donna. I don't think it's too late to enter in to the judging. Just post the photo where Nana has asked us to post. Voting is open until the 29th. Great job.
Thank you Mimi. Does anyone have that link?
Donna:Does anyone have that link?
I'm not really good with links and such but I know if you go to Mystery Quilt 7 group page, then click on discussions in the upper right part of the page, and then click on the Viewer's Choice page you can upload your photo to the right place. Hope that's clear for you. If not someone else will be able to give you a direct link. And someone can give me a lesson on putting links into discussion pages. LOL
I wanted to post a picture of what I have so far before everyone leaves. I don't have a place to hang it and get a full picture, so this is the best I could do with it on the floor. I plan to put a red flower print border (probably about 4") and then use the 2" strips chained together as the binding. I think the top is already kinda busy, so I don't think a complicated border would work. Plus, it's already a large lap quilt and I don't want it to be much larger with multiple borders. I don't think it reads too well in the picture, but it reminds me of a weave pattern.
I haven't been around much because I was so busy trying to make Christmas tags for all the gifts. I didn't succeed in making enough for all of them, but everyone got at least one fancy one. But I did want to say I have been so impressed with all the quilts and all the variety and creativity. All the different borders made me think about borders differently. Mainly I just stick something on to get it done, but now I'm going to seriously consider the border(s) as another design element. Thanks for sharing all your great ideas!
Tami, I also did the BOM at Craftsy. It's my next project to finish once I get this one done. I love how yours looks. Congrats on completing it!
Deborah, I love your fabric choices! It's going to be beautiful!
Pretty top Deborah.
Very pretty Deborah, please post after the border is on.
