Okay, finally after much debating and rearranging of the blocks I decided to go off on a different tangent and ended up making 4 blocks as one big block with a twist on how I positioned them. each with have a unique center. here's the first three... What do ya'll think?

I just didn't like the blocks laid out, needed something...
Looking good Debbie. I love these MQs. I so enjoy the creativity of everyone.
think I'll put sashing around the blocks, just not sure what color. want something solid and debating on a bright green, think I have enough scraps that would work.
I agree, the fairy panel just makes the quilt pop!
I love yours, looks so fallish!
love it, looks warm and inviting!
DEAR - stands for Debbie Elizabeth Adams Robertus - my Mom siad when I was about 13 I told her when I got married my initials would either be DEAR or DEAD. Luckily, I met Michael first and so I sign as DEAR, which is his nickname for me, on most stuff.
here is number 2
Debbie,
The way you laid out your blocks makes for a great space to put a fancy quilting motif, and that is going to make your quilt sing!

All the tops look great. This pattern is very simple but it works with all the colour combos I've seen. I was way to busy last weekend but will try to get them sewn together this weekend.
WTG everyone.
Sheila in MT - not sure I know what you mean by fancy quilting motif?
anyways, couldn't sleep so been up all nite and decided might as well sew. Got all the 4 block done but not sure - does it need sashing around each one to help define the shape I made in the center? what color? Need some help!!!
two more - I used 12 fabrics and ended up with 12 4/blocks with each fabric featured as the middle shape. going to do three across and four down. To sash or not, that is the dilemna!
these ones are more defined than the light colored fabric..
I really love everyone's interpretations of this mystery. The fairy quilt is darling, Frances, your colours are so soft, and the Christmas motif oh so nice, and DEAR, your arrangement is wonderfully interesting. Maybe you could arrange them spaced apart on another fabric to see if you like sashing or not?
I haven't sewn mine together yet but do have them arranged. I'm making a throw quilt 5 x 7 blocks and still have 16 left over. YIKES! I guess I'll make another 4 blocks for a lap quilt 4 x 5 blocks. Or they might just go in my orphan pile to be used later.
