I like the way it is coming out. Did I read something about using black or white in the border?
One of my fabrics has a black background and it is jumping off of the pattern. I am learning more about how the darks, medium and lights go together too. So not only is this a mystery waiting for the outcome, but between learning how values show on the overall layout look and my thinking about the "quilting" possibilities I am really enjoying this.
My ruler slipped a lot when I was cutting and I ended up eliminating a couple of fabrics. I think it makes a difference that I don't have at least 10 different fabrics because too many are touching.
I am already thinking about starting another with a whole new set of at least 10 fabrics. It will make a nice Christmas gift for someone.
BTW....I put new non-slip stickies on my ruler.
Thanks Nana. I will wait before I sew. I have lots else going on so not a problem. Glad your computer issues are resolved and you are back with us. Thank you again for leading us.

These are really bright, cheery fabrics, Judy. I don't think anyone will notice that some fabrics touch. I think some black in your borders will pull those fabrics with black together.

Here's mine. I reduced it to 5x6 which appears will be large enough for a lap quilt once borders are on. I have extra blocks now, so may go 5x7 for extra length. Not sure I like my swirly fabric so much anymore. I'll try to tie it in with the border.

It certainly is a wonderful quilt top so far, Judy. I love the peppermint fabric. I'm thinking of cutting another one too as it would make a fast gift. And I still have all the fabric scraps out from the first one. Thanks for sharing your great quilt top.

Beautiful happy colored quilt top. I think it's so alive! WTG
WOW Christine! It's beautiful.

Azhinova, your layout reminded me of Christmas presents wrapped and waiting for their people to open them! I wanted to reach into your picture and find mine!

MnNancy, your quilt is wonderful. I love all the brights!
Azhinova Lyubov:this is my layout step 4
I really like your Christmas quilt.
I like this one. I like the swirly fabric in it. Maybe you are looking at that one combination with the beige flower. It's what I am noticing about mine. How much the combinations can change a look. I guess we will both be waiting to see what happens with the borders.
Judy, putting black in your borders somewhere is going to make your top pop, lovely fabrics! Good job!

Very pretty fabrics, Nancy, I love your top!
Well it looks like I won't be sewing the rest of my step 2, I had unexpected company, which was nice and welcomed. Tomorrow is another day, may get to it then.
