You sew the strips in your 3 1/2 x 91/2 pile to the strips in your 5 1/2 x 9 1/2 pile.    You will end up with a block 8 1/2 x 9 1/2.   Now cut a 4 in strip off of each of your blocks to end up with a pile of 4 x 8 1/2 and a pile of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.   There are no seams to line up or match.    Gini was staggering the seams in her finished blocks so that she could stack them and do the cutting on more than one block at a time.

Bonita,  such a cutie!   Her birthday is tomorrow?   Mine is the next day, but I will be just a little older than she is.  LOL    Ginny

You can join the scrappy group here on QA -- there's a thread on the Bonnie Hunter "Easy Street".  We are discussing how we plan on doing the quilt.  Naturally few of us actually follow directions!  The fabric requirements and colours are here:   http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/10/find-yourself-on-easy-street.html.  First clue will be given next Friday.

I found the Bonnie Hunter MQ also, and have bookmarked the page,  however at 15 yards of material that is needed,  I may wait till MQ7 and my Craftsy BOM quilts tops are finished.

Just go to Bonnie Hunter's website - www.quiltville.com for information for her mystery quilt (Easy Street).  I'm doing it also.

Here's a sampling of my 4" strips.  I finally got the fabrics washed and cut yesterday and the new steps done today!

Nana,

This mystery quilt is so great.  I came home from work and sewed for a little bit, cut a little bit, and I'm already finished with step 2.  So excited and can't wait for the next Friday to get here. (Of course I'm on vacation next Friday.  YEAH!!) Thanks for running this.  You're the best.

Bonita--your gd is adorable! I love her expression! I have my pieces all stitched & cut. I also was a good girl and have the binding on my black & white quilt.  Now I can work on finishing the binding.  I can do the hand sewing part while I'm on the swing with the girls.

(I have a porch swing in my living room.  My little deck isn't large enough for it, and I so didn't want to get rid of it, so I put it in my living room.)

I also have another top that is almost done.  I just need to get the borders on it.  Dang, if only I could finish them as quickly as I can do the tops, I'd be a marvel!

Your fabrics are fabulous, Debbie.  I think I have a similar collection in a jelly roll saved for another day.  It's going to be a great happy quilt.

Wow, I love how all the pieces are coming together.  Unfortunately (but so happy) I have my 10 month old granddaughter here for the week-end.  So I probably won't get to sew until Sunday.  But right now I plan on pinning the pieces together, so I feel like I'm getting something done.  The week-end should go pretty fast with her here and hopefully I won't be exhausted when she leaves.  You all keep up the good work.
