No Gini. I didn't go to Canada. We went to Charlottesville to watch the UVA / Miami football game. Had great seats and parking almost at the gate. Really good game and UVA won.....WAHOO

This is a very easy pattern and very forgiving. A beginner should do just fine.

I see no problem doing this one scrappy if you want. You could cut each 5 1/2 x 9 1/2 strip from a different fabric if you like really scrappy.
walla2butterfly: I have always heard to be careful if mixing fabric, such as, using flanel on back side because it shrinks different than regular cotton.

Marie:Hi Marie, nice to meet you, welcome. We share the same name, it might be confusing but fun. : ) I love your fabrics, will you be using all of them in this MQ?
This is another QCA quirk. User names are not unique.
Greenmonster
I really like these fabrics. Going to beautiful. I have only bought a couple of bundles in my quilting life. Really like them though.

Nancy is right...LOL> I would find a dark blue like the first fabric at the top left or a black. Something that reads as solid and really frames your fabrics.
MNnancy:But how many of us will follow the exact pattern directions when it comes to the border?
Nancy
The first 3 "borders" are somewhat part of the design and I highly recommend doing those. Then add additional borders to your hearts content. To do the first 3 borders you need to find something that reads as solid in a color that frames your other fabrics. You will need enough fabric to do a 2 1/2 and a 4 in border. These 2 borders are the ones that I have recommended a black for alot of the fabrics shown.
Judy & Dogs: MNcarol: I haven't picked a border fabric yet. Any suggestions? You have options!!

MNcarol and others--Sorry to have muddled things. (When I responded, I was really thinking about fabrics for the optional very outside border). So scratch my comments...
Definitely do what Nana says!!
Nana--you may WANT to go to Canada! 39 pages of comments and we haven't even started the quilt!!

I don't think going to Canada will help. They still have wifi.....LOL
Greenmonster... I really like your fabric choices. Your quilt will be gorgeous.
Thank you, nice to meet you as well.
Thanks Judy!
Jacy and MNNancy... I was thinking the same as you: a dark green, blue, black or gold would be nice too. I guess I'll have to make another trip to the quilt shop and check the color wall!
Hi Marie, nice to meet you too. I'm glad there are pictures of us to keep everyone aware which of us is which :D. Yes I plan to use all these fabrics in MQ7. There are 22 pieces, but I'm aliltte confused by how Nana used 30 different pieces but only suggested 20 FQS????? But if I need more I'll be able to add to these.
