I joined the club last night and am really excited to learn more about sewing and quilting on my new Singer Futura 4in1 which I have had for about 3 months. I have been sewing for about 30+ years on and off. I am really anxious to quilt my first quilt ever on the machine.

Joyful, Good Sunday morning to you. Glad you jiojed us.

Quilting will just change your life....for the better, of course!  Since you have been sewing for so long, get a pattern that is for begginers, anyway. At least that is what I did. And, start off slow. Once the first one is all finished, you will have created a monster that will take over your life. Becuase YOU will be a quilter. And, there is no going back.

Have a blessed day. Look around this site, there is lots to learn here. Just have fun.

Sukochi

Joyful, welcome to the club, You have come to the right place for quilting, should be  easy for you since you have been a sewer for so long. Just start with a simple pattern, the piercing is not that much different then just reg sewing . Its the quilting of the quilt that is different . Read all you can about quilting ,and of course we are here to help when needed. Barbara

Welcome. This is a wonderful site with very nice members. You will find that quilters are nice people and willing to help out anyone in need of advice. We all love to teach and share our craft. Soon you will become a fabric-aholic and wait until your significant other is not around before bringing in your fabric and/or accessory and/or ruler purchases. Your fabric stash will grow and it will become an absolute wonderful obsession. Welcome to our world!!
