Frances:
We had school assembly every morning and sang hymns ( i loved it i sing crap but i still love it best part of school assembly) and Christmas was great with christmas carols and Easter was good with hymns as well (not sure its done now classed as politically incorrect) although its exceptable in Church of England schools.

Frances,

schools at home still do this. I loved general and house assemblies. The whole school singing in the morning was great. We sometimes sang a prayer before and after lunch. We sang "Taps" at the end of the school day.

I like "My Grandfather's Clock". How about "In Dublin's Fair City" and "White Sand and Grey Sand" or " Sing a Rainbow"?

Gini

We did sing hymns in school when I was young.  They can't do it anymore though.
