Hi Gang,
I'm going to be heading to LasVegas on Nov. 3. SIL in upstate NY is meeting me there. It's a bucket list entry that I'm going to be able to check off. Now, for the fun thing. She called me last night and wanted to know how strange it would be that there will be a Quilt Shop Hop going on while we're there. YUP, going on a shop hop to 4 shops that are there on Thurs. Nov. 8 because we both fly out on the 9th. If there is anyone out there that is close-by and would like to meet up, let me know. My SIL is as crazy as I am and we do a lot of laughing when we get together.

Diana,
Have fun in Las Vegas! I hope The Christmas Goose Quilt Shop on S. Durango is on the shop hop list. I love that store.
Have a super time. I haven't been in Vegas since the early 80's. By, has it changed a lot since then. Wish I could go but it is out of the question now.
Hi Diana,
You will love Las Vegas. It is a very exciting place. And it has changed ALOT since the 80's. Just remember to stay safe. Have a great, great time. Last time I was there I was not quilting so I didn't even know there are quilting shops around. I'll have to check it out next time.

You are just a merry wanderer these days! Stop by Phoenix and say hi to Marlene! Have fun!

Diana, what a fun trip that will be. Hope you fill a bucket at the machines while your checking Vegas off your bucket list. : ) Think of all the money you could spend at those quilt shops. Have a great time and stay safe.

Oh Man i wish i was going to be there at that time. I lived there and visit friends 4-5 times a year. Hope you get to Henderson the Quiltique, and up in the NW area of Las Vegas is the goose something, great shops all around. SEW fun!!!
Have fun Diana.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. My SIL and I are not the last of the big gamblers. I find a penny slot machine and I'm happy. We want to go see the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, quilt shops(of course), Tremont Street and the water show at the Bellagio. We're going to try to take in a show or two as well.
DH and I wanted to go together but he just can't bring himself to go with his PTSD and all. He can't fly because of a heart condition either so we would have had to drive. He's been to Vegas a lot when he was trucking. He's been there and done that so he doesn't care to see it again. My SIL has been to Vegas a lot too and knows all the areas to avoid. She's fun and a bit younger than I am. We should have tons of fun. Maybe a little gambling and hope winning a bit too.....
have fun diana, and make sure you go into the bellagio and look above the reception area at the chihuly glass then keep going until you reach the garden room, it is really cool. you can smell it before you get to it..

Penny machines are fun....especially when my hubby plays them - he won $9,000 on one in Rio and $5,000 on one in Oklahoma!
Diana, here s a tip from someone who used to work, at a gift shop, in a casino. That would be ME. You will see these giant slopt machines. Stand for awhile and watch people play it. When about 10 people try it and walk away without winning, you play it. I used to win on Big Bertha every night just by standing and counting people who walk away empty handed. In fact, I was winning so much, that they moved the machine out of my view. Too funny. But, I was bringing in between $25.00 and $50.00 bucks a shift.
If you sit in the main lounge where ever you are staying, look for the headliners to show up with their backup people for a few drinks. We saw Cher at the next table, and George Libaraci (sorry don't know how to spell his name) but he was the brother of the piano player. While lying out at the pool, Chastity Bon oand Elija Blue Allman, were playing in the pool. Of course, it was in 1980. But, it was fun.
Sukochi, how nice, you rubbed elbows with the stars!
I don't think we'll be rubbing too many elbows with stars...hehe We'll be staying at the Jockey Club. My other SIL has a time-share there and she's letting us use it. I've never been to Vegas and this has always been a wish of mine. Just once....hehe Thanks for all your good wishes and ideas.
