Most people do call me Diane, so feel free. About 5 years ago I decided that quilting would be something I would enjoy. Not having anyone to show me, I got a pattern and some tools, picked out my material and through a lot of trail and error I created my first quilt. I still am learning and I listen closely to any advice. I do live about 50 miles from Cincinnati and I do enjoy their chili. Thanks for welcoming me to the club.

You'll find we're a pretty friendly bunch and are willing to offer all kinds of advice (even if it's not about quilting). Check out the What Are You Up To Today? and Did You Work On A Quilt Today? discussion threads. I kind of had the same type of beginning in quilting. Just jumped in without a net. I still don't really use patterns, just inspiration from quilts I see. Check out the Show And Tell Gallery too. You can search by types of quilts, colors, methods. They're all done by members. Lots of sub-groups to join as well. Have fun.

Yes, I did work on a quilt today. I want to get it done so I can make a baby quilt for my new Great Grandson (due the first part of January). A friend gave me a pattern for the quilt. It is named Precious Cargo from Fons & Porter's baby quilt 2008 magazine. I am new to quilting and I have never Applique. Can someone give me some hints as to how to set my machine. I have a Viking Husvarna Designer 1 machine. Thanks Sue
