Good addition to the questions - thank you!
Thea
You can count me in this year. Thanks for heading this up.
Vinton, Virginia
Great Nana - will put your name on the list.
Thea:Ask Kris what I did for her when I was hers
Yep,
Thea was a wonderful SS. Everything in the box was well appreciated. Roarrbert the lion has a special place in my bedroom.
stitcheraz: Adding "Any allergies?" keeps that from happening.
I think this was on the list when I participated. It's a good one. Having a peanut allergy cut done on the chocolates and treats that I can have. Worst allergy ever.
Hi Thea,
I would like to join, if my being overseas is not to much of a problem.
Gerie.
Gerie: Hi Thea, I would like to join, if my being overseas is not to much of a problem. Gerie.
Gerie - You can sign up at the fabric swap section! There is a thread on Secret Santa 2012.
Zsofia
chicagosinger:I'd like to participate. I'm new so I would need to know the rules once you get them together. Will you be posting them somewhere? Thanks for doing this, it's really nice of you!
chicagosinger - you can sign up at the fabric swap section there is a thread for Secret Santa. There are basic rules and you can always ask questions!
Thanks, Zsofia, will do.
Or actually, it is mentioned that there are two Secret Santa threads, one here and one in fabricswapsomething. Since I haven't joined the fabricswapgroup, I can join the secret santa thing here, without having to join the fabricswapgroup. At least, that is how I understood Thea's message. So Zsofia, thanks for your advice, but I will try it in this thread.
Gerie
It is fine to sign up in this thread. Not everyone joins in the groups. I hope you will check out our groups section. You may find something that really interests you.
Hi Nana, I did join two groups, the applique and the Dear Jane. I think I will join more groups in the future, but swapping fabrics while living in Europe is not convenient. For the future, the mystery and the round robin seem like fun, too.
Thanks for reassuring. Gerie.
Where do you live? I know that have lots of members from outside the USA but I don't remember where they all live.
Just a thought. For those participating in overseas Secret Santa 3012, it would help for them to give us an idea as to what items might put a financial burden on them going through customs. Especially a list of items that they would most like to receive that might be duty free. Many times duty fees come higher than what was original cost of the item..
Also customs needs to be considered when choosing cut off dates for mailing.
