I stopped in at our new quilt shop on my lunch hour today.  I was looking for a specific line of fabric.  The owners greeted me like we were best friends.  It was kind of fun talking with them.  I am going to set up a Project Linus drop off site there and they are going to pass on some longarm business to me.  They only do the computer driven quilting and have one other employee that does long arm work but she has a large backlog.  I am hoping I get something from that.  They thanked me for being their cheerleader.  If you follow me on facebook, you would know what they are talking about.  They are in a contest to earn $5,000 but they need to be in at least 5th place through a vote once per day system through October 22.  If they win, they asked me what I wanted them to buy and I mentioned Quilts of Valor type fabric.  She liked that idea so she said she would.  Love having influence!

THANKS!!

I really need to load a quilt.  It is a king size gorgeous Arkansas Cross Road (MQ6) pattern with bright batiks and deep purple background!!!

Started to load a quilt last night that was suppose to be 100 square for the 106 wide backing.  Turned out to be 108 square.  Luckily there was 4 yards so I had enough to piece it wider.  This is for a friend in KC and I thought we had worked out the dimensions but something didn't work.  Just put me a day behind.  I have a week to get it done.  The backing is sewbatik flannel and monstrous to manipulate.

Jeanine,

Beautiful quilt!  Not having enough backing does put you behind. Good thing you double checked!

Sounds like a great opportunity there for some business. I'll try to remember each day to vote but you may have to remind me. Voted for today!

Jeanine, Thanks for the info. So nice of everyone to share. That's a wonderful thing about quilters. Sorry I can't help you with the voteing. Don't have a facebook account. Wishing them good luck.

Working on my monster quilt for a friend.  Feels more under control now that it is on the frame.

Jeanine,

Boy that quilt is pretty and it'll be more beautiful when you finish quilting it. I love all the colors and the pattern she used.

Jeanine,

Whew! It turned out great!  I'm trying to see the pattern you used but can't make it out. I saw the part from the front but  how about a close of up of quilting from the back.  :-)

I just realized I used a different pattern then we had agreed to.  Hmmm....must have been very similar.  I need to go take a look.  Will post a picture...

and thanks for voting...we are in fourth place by two votes now.  I say we just go for first place!!!  Keep voting.

This is the one I used...

And this is the one I was supposed to use...

I think they both work...

I can't get a picture where you can see the quilting clearly...

Jeanine,

I do not believe she is going to notice the difference in the patterns. You did more quilting than you needed to and she is going to love it!  That's ok with the picture. I know you did a great job.  Getting ready to vote again!   Glad they are ahead.
