Hi Jeanine, I always enjoy looking at your quilting. Not being a longarmer very long I'm hoping you can help me. In your white, yellow and black quilt you kept your batting and backing to one side therefore not wasting so much. Can you tell me how you keep your quilt centered when you load it that way? Does that make sensse? If not maybe I can ask another way.
Great quilting job. I did purchase that pattern and I'm getting ready to use it on all the flannel Christmas gift quilts. You do such wonderful work and get so much accomplished.

Not to stick my nose in but I think Jeanine loaded that quilt sideways. That's my guess. That way do you don't have to quilt so many rows and not so many times advancing the quilt. Bit of a time saver.

Oh me too Joan. Seems I'm learning something new every day. I can't believe how much there is to learn about the longarm rhelm. There are several on here that are just full of techniques and inspirations to help us along and Jeanine is one of them. I'm just glad they are willing to share.

I always load my quilts with the long side across as long as the pattern is not directional or I'm not doing something custom that would not work that way. I start my quilts pretty close to the top and usually have some left over at the bottom. My sides are equally centered, however. Does that answer your question? I guess it is the lazy way to quilt but it was how I was taught.
