I figured out a solution to working with the red snappers. If I roll up the leader cloth all the way then I can push the clamps on by pushing them against the bar with one hand while holding the fabric in place with the other. So far, that's working for me.

Yes I definitely am having a blast with my new machine. It is sew much bigger than my last one. It's amazing how much I can get done before I have to roll my quilt up.
