Donna:
today I am working on cutting the pieces for my quilter's guild 1 1/2 day class with Bonnie Hunter.  Cant wait until Monday.

Oh Donna you are going to have so much fun.  She is such a great teacher and I learned a lot of easy tricks from her when I took a class at Hershey.  What I liked most is that she's real - doesn't let her success change who she really is.  Oh I so wish I could be there too.  You are so lucky.

Have fun, Donna!  If you get a chance, jot down some of those great tips Mimi spoke of and share some with us!

Nana:

Bonita

I still make my first registration mark from corner to corner.  It will give a somewhat diamond shaped crosshatch but is very pretty.

Thanks Nana for your help.

I'm beginning to finish placement of diagonal rainbow baby quilt and trying to refresh my brain on color sequence using pastels don't know if i should have green at top or yellow?

Colors I'm using are: Green

                                        Blue

                                        Purple

                                        Pink

                                        Orange

                                       Yellow

Its a diagonal 9 patch what do you think?

Is, I'm really visual.  Is there a picture you could post?  I know the rainbow is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet but I don't really think it makes a lot of difference where you place them.  I've seen rainbow quilts with all kinds of sets.  Make it the way you want it to be.

Sharon I know exactly where you are coming from!

I was carefully cutting the backing for my youngest sons quilt and couldn't work out why I didn't have 2 long pink pieces I had 1 long and 2 short. I had somehow cut straight across the fold. $^%&£" woman. I then had to go to the shop about a 15 minute drive to get more fabric. Luckily I have sorted it and the quilt has gone to be quilted along with my eldest son's which is for his and his fiancee wedding present. Good job the wedding isn't until May!!  I really need to be more organised when I am quilting and careful too. Tomorrow it will all look different and you will get it sorted I am sure.

Well, started on the Craftsy BOM 2012, but I couldn't get things lined up.  Gave up and worked on my Lone Star.  What a mess that is.  But I didn't have some tools that I do now, so will just put it together and say lesson learned.  It shouldn't be tooooooo bad, but . ..  it is huge too, as I decided I could just make it the size I thought it should be, and it will be very, very big.  Trying to figure out what color I should do the setting squares and traps in.  I used blues and a white . . .

Hope everyone had a great day!!!

It is nice to see and read about every one's new projects.  For me I'm still quilting on my friend's DGS quilt I made.  I am about halfway done quilting the stars.  It is fairly big and hard to move around, but I will be done soon! It is my UFO for this month. I really would like to be done by next weekend...so enough of a break. I am going to walk on treadmill and then sew some more...only 23 stars left to quilt :-)

Joe

That's really pretty. Do you make up your own designs or do you use a pattern?

Is2116, maybe this will help.  It's the most recent post of a rainbow I have seen.

Someone has finally
managed to photograph the
Pot at the end of the rainbow!!!
Wouldn't you know it!

I'm guilty of all designs and patterns I use. I scratch them out on graph paper and go from there. Usually I wrong-headedly ignore all color wheels and other guides. This time though, as it's a present for DGD I listened to my DW in picking the fabric.

And thanks for kind words.
