Oh!  What a gorgeous Lone Star!  I very favorite quilt to dream of doing.  Your colors are so soft and pretty!

quote  Do you live in northern Arizona that you are getting snow?   Ginny --- Yes I live in norther az, near area inhabited by Donna.

I look to see her at her working place but haven't yet. Could advise her say hi if sees a fat old geezer limping on a cane, but then she would have to say Hi Joe five hundred times a day, and maybe not get the right geezer.

Donna:
But what else is out there that screams a wedding quilt that I dont know of????  Help me my friends.

As far as I'm concerned, any quilt could be a wedding gift. If you know the wedding colours you could use those to make whatever you're comfortable making. Or just use a colour you know they both like.

Karla, I don't know if this one screams wedding but I've always thought it would be lovely as a wedding gift.  In the summer 2011 issue of Easy Quilts there is a lovely natural colored quilt by Cyndi Hershey called Naturally Natural.  It is made as a throw but looks like you could increase the size by making more blocks. If you don't get Easy Quilts then you can go to the Fons and Porter website and search for the quilt's name.  The pattern download is free.  Hope this helps and good luck with your new project.

Oh, Mimi, I love that quilt. Always wanted to make it. Then forgot about it. So, thanks for the thump on the head! Must go dig out that mag...

I might say: an all white beauty, very elegant to be used as a daytime cover, not for everyday sweating and snoring.

Or one of those memory or whatevevers, where people write stuff.

Or something blending their tastes, or indicative of their shared futures. Will they be alternative clamdiggers, living on a raft? Will the move to the great north woods and pursue Moose Management? These things could be great quilt material.

Joe, just ask for Donna the next time you are there.  I am normally there everyday except Sat and Mon.  Some days I cook but can always pop out to say hi. and I am the only Donna there.

Didn't work on a quilt today, yet. But did go shopping at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's Over the weekend however; I finished up 2 blocks for the Vintage Tin Quilt that I started the end of November. I got a whole bolt of unbleached muslin at JoAnn's because my d S-I-L and quilting buddy, Kathy, gave me a nice gift card and with my 40% coupon and the membership card I got a really good buy. JoAnn has two guys working there now and they both are very helpful. One does the cutting table and he walked with me over to where they moved the bolts and figured out the price for me and the other at the register help with the checkout. Come to think of it, I didn't see any women there at all... I'm hoping they got the holidays off for a change.

My new blocks:

Happy New Year!

Max your two lap quilts are amazing. You put lots of work in those. You are a very generous soul.  If I lived closer I would put the binding on for you.

What about a photo quilt? With engagement photos, maybe letters from friends giving congrads, printed off and made into blocks?  I did one like this for my mother for her 80th birthday. Makes a great gift for the house.
