Belfrybat: Well, I couldn't stand it and went ahead and finished the batik quilt I started last week. The inner border is yellow/ orange batik but it got washed out. I'm pretty happy with it but next time will just put a multi batik border on instead of messing with the narrow inner one.

This quilt is so pretty. I love batiks. Maybe someday I will make one just for myself with all the jewel batiks. Great job.

Beautiful quilt Karla, Your quilting looks really good.
Love the bright quilt BB.
Karla-- love the colors in your quilt! And that quilting pattern is so cute!
Brigit-Carol--like the way you bordered your quilt. It is so pretty to look at...those colors are wonderful!

I thought I would get an early start on projects for next Christmas. This is a picture of the center block of a quilt I started around August but did not get back to until this week. The bottom left block is not sewn together because I am "re-thinking" the red in the Santa suit because I like the red I am using for rest of quilt better.Just not looking forward to taking it all apart because it was soooo much fun sewing all those little pieces together.
this is the pattern I am using.

I like the pattern Bev. What you have do far looks good.
Maybe you can just keep this piece or, if you really don't like the red and don't want to rip, start over and use this piece for something else.
brigit-carol. i like the narrow border, and your quilt is beautiful

bev, having a little different red in the santa will make him stand out a bit from the red in your quilt. i often mix different shades of a color,
I did get some blocks cut out to use with my Round Robin center. Maybe I will get them sewn together tomorrow.

Karla and Brigit-Carol, I love your batik quilts!
I've been working on my RR center as I get free moments here and there during all the holiday parties. But needed a break. So... on my first real FREE day (yesterday), I made this new purse for myself. The pattern is by Lazy Girl Designs and it's called Candice. It includes instuctions for how to make the pockets sized perfectly for your iPad/eReader/etc. I thought that was way cool. I included an iPad pocket, a kindle pocket, a pencil/pen pocket, and several pockets for assorted medical stuff that I have to carry around. The main fabrics are from the Simply Color line by Moda.
Karla I love your MQ7. The batiks look great together. It is so cozy and it appeals to read a good book cuddled in it.

Bellfrybat, your quilt is so much fun. Full of energy. It looks great.
Cool bag Carolyn. I loved the different pockets you made. That's what I need to do for myself....a new bag with many pockets for work.
I've spent the past week making the 49 blocks for a Christmas star quilt in one of the latest quilt magazines. Finally got them done yesterday and got the first two rows together. Hopefully today I can get most of the other rows together since they go together pretty quick. I'm trying to get this quilt done before the end of the week or it will have to go to the UFO pile because I have to get back to my donation quilt project for the AZ retreat center. Wish me luck. The blocks took much longer than expected. Getting the flu bug didn't help matters.
