Just one for a minute to check out all the beautiful projects and gifts everyone doing. So many talented people on this site. It amazes me.  Even appears some have animal approval.

 Merry Christmas

Kris:

"Winter Wonderland" is complete, delivered and well received.

Front:

For the back I used some snowman fabric I bought last year and really didn't know if I'd ever use it. It was perfect for this:

The label:

A little closeup of the quilting. The snowman panels were done in an all over meander and the blocks have random snowflakes, feathers, stars and swirls:

Fabulous, Kris! congratulations and Merry Christmas.

xoxoxo,

Thea:

Okay - I have been a busy bee - working away with Barbara - talking and listening to the NCIS marathon programs today...teehee... Just some pictures of what I have accomplished...

I started this quilt about a year and a half ago - it was in a project box - with the pattern but when I looked the last 2 pages of the pattern were missing - so after I had satin stitched all the applique down this week I had to figure out how to do the borders - luckily I had most of the pieces cut - I just had to change the last borders a little bit as that long piece in the borders - that was all I could find of it... so had to make a few more pinwheel blocks...

I finished up my Craftsy BOM project from last year by sewing on the final border today - the inner blocks look so pale in the photo but in reality they don't look that light - I will scallop the outside border after it is quilted...

And finally today I made some Smarty pants for my new Grand son to be born in April...

But I would be really amiss if I didn't show my helper this week when I was free motion quilting Rita's quilt - which is done and all ready to give to her...

Thea, you certainly have been busy! Thank you for the lovely card! Merry Christmas to you & yours and everyone here at QCA!

xoxoxo,

Here is the 2013 project laid out.  A stack of batting,  a stack of 5 2 1/2 inch strips sewn together, and a stack red backing ready to be assembled into 20 christmas stocking with names of kids and grandkids embroidered on them.  With one completed to show how they will look.  The top two 2 1/2 inch strip panels are the same,  I am making them for me and John and I wanted them to be the same,  the rest are all different.  My goal is 2 a month so I can put them in the mail by the end of november next year.

Thanks for the additional pictures of your Winter Wonderland, Kris!  I think your meandering was the perfect finish around the embroidery.  Did you do that on a frame or using the stuff-n-fluff method?

Thanks Nancy. I did the meandering and some of the blocks on a frame and, after that machine started acting up, I finished the blocks doing the fluff and stuff. It wasn't too difficult since they're on the perimeter.

Kris,  Love how you finished Wonderland! Your friend will be so pleased!

Donna, you quilts and stockings look great.  Glad you have a plan for 2013!

Agnes,  I really like the table topper, and how you did the facing!

I have gotten the quilting done on one lap quilt, and the second has been sandwiched and it laying on the sewing table waiting for me to start quilting it later today.  May just make the 12/31 deadline!
