Nancy  Good luck with your reconstruction.  You are lucky that they will lift the skin from lower.  Perhaps because of it being uneven in the jowl area you can get them to lift the other side also.  My boyfriend had to have a cancer removed from the end of his nose.  There was not enoufg skin left to pull from the sides or anything so they cut a flap from his forehead and rotated it down onto his nose tip.  It was quite involved including a tube flap, but now you can't even see tell he had any surgery.   I am certain yours will turn out beautiful.     Ginny

I hope I don't come out looking like Frankenstein!

Nancy, you, NEVER, you are a beautiful woman and I'm sure the surgeon will keep it that way.  Sending my thoughts and prayers that the cancer is history.  God Bless.

Nancy

I hope everything goes well with your reconstruction.  You are a beautiful lady .... even with the patch on your check.

MNnancy:

So thanks, someone, for the warning about the tediousness of rag quilt snipping.  Next time, give me a warning to wear sun screen!

Nancy, you are welcome. I hated snipping those edges, and I made 5 of them. I hope your surgery went well. If I had known your were such a sun lover I would have warned you about that too. But I have to say I have been guilty of not wearing sun screen when I mow my yard or do other yard work. Isn't it funny that we only think of sunscreen when we go swimming or boating? lol

My morning moisturizer has spf 20 in it.  I use it every morning all year long.  When I know I am going to be out in the sun for a long time, I use spf 30 or 50.  It's just something I do after laying out in the sun with just baby oil on for many, many years as a teenager and into my 20s and 30s.   So far I am lucky for my earlier years, but I don't do that any more.   Ginny

Judy, those are delightful!  It would be fun to see how you might pull them together. You always come up with striking designs.

I've never been a sun worshipper because my face never tans, but I do spend a lot of time outdoors (especially fishing and gardening), and I've been quite lazy about sunscreen.  I think a lot of damage may have happened as a child, too.  We didn't know better back then.

Thanks for the well wishes, all.  I'm in a bit more pain today after all the stitching, but Vicodin is a wonderful thing!

Thanks Nancy.  How are you doing? Weren't you supposed to have surgery today? Are you back home? Or are you posting from a bed somewhere?

It was outpatient surgery, so I'm back home where I'll probably be hiding out for the next year...  ;-)
