Ramona, I bought the book "JElly Roll Dreams" that Karla mentioned that pattern is in, from Amazon today, I love it as well. Thought it would make a bright cheerful crib quilt for my expected GGS.

I did work on a quilt and now I'm trrying to decide the next step. I have to piece the batting. I will have a 100 inch seam in the batting. Would it be best to zig zag the two pieces together or get a roll of the tape that is advertised for holding the batting together. If I zig zag can I leave the edges straight or do I need to make them curvy? Do I overlap it or just butt the edges together? Do I need someone to come hold my hand? LOL

I have sewn together batting on several occasions. I just make sure that the edges I am joining are straight. I do a wide and long zig zag and just butt them together. I do not overlap. It has always worked out great for me.

I'm no expert by any means but I really like the tape. It seems to hold fast and it's strong. But I've never pieced a 100" seam of batting. If you go slowly you'll probably not be able to see where you've joined the pieces. Good luck with your next step. Do what you think is best for you.
I did work on a quilt even though I was stuck in a doctor's waiting room for most of the day. Who was it that warned me that snipping the edges of a rag quilt was the worst part of its construction. You were SO right! I was undergoing the Mohs procedure for skin cancer today, and I knew I'd have an hour+ wait for lab results after each excision, so finishing the rag quilt there seemed like the perfect way to kill time. There were four excisions, so that was nearly five hours of waiting, and that still wasn't enough time to finish snipping that quilt. Boy, did I leave a mess on the waiting room carpet!
So thanks, someone, for the warning about the tediousness of rag quilt snipping. Next time, give me a warning to wear sun screen!
Tomorrow I'll be at another doctor for cheek reconstruction, but I don't think there will be any waiting room time.
