Belfrybat: Wow, you all have been busy. Kelly - both of your blocks are wonderful. I really liked the round one. I've been busy with two mystery quilts and making a few items for a silent auction today. This is not a quilt, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. Would have been better with a bit of braid or something around the top, but I didn't have any.

Wow Bel this is too cute... I have a cup like that. If I remember correctly, it was a set that I got from the grocery store when it was buy a piece a week program. Did you glue the cut to the saucer?
xoxoxo
Thank you. Yes, the cup is glued to the saucer. I found these at a thrift shop for $1.00 per set. I also found some nice white ones that I'll also make up. Just hope they will sell for a bit more at the craft fair. I could leave off the scissors and save a bit but I liked the effect with them on.
I joined a great sewing bee this past week. We had a 'sew-in' at the library yesterday and it was so relaxing to sit and sew. I cut out more pieces for my PP2007 quilt. I've got 3 more blocks cut and ready to sew, I'll get them done this week and post a photo.
Today, I'm working on the long arm. I've got 5 quilts that need to be quilted, and have 2 more coming in the mail. Busy, busy week!! I hope each of you have a wonderful week with no thread nests!

Here is the first quilt I'm quilting this week. It's by a 12 yr old beginner and she's just so cute. The top has tucks nearly everywhere so I thought an all over swirl pattern would help disguise the puffy areas. She did a great job for a first time quilt don't you think?
Oh....on the design wall are some blocks I've finished for a Civil War journals quilt I'm working on. They've only been there 4 months now... LOL I can't find time to get back to it. I homeschool my son, and have 3 other quilts going. One has to be finished by The end of Nov.
I love the tea cup pin cushion! That's a great idea!
Oh wait, the tip is not SUPPOSE to have tucks in it????? Nobody told me that. LOL I too am a beginner, but I am 55 not 12 lol.

I certainly do, Christine! Please congratulate her for me and tell her "good Job".
Your blocks on the wall are gorgeous! Can't wait to see that quilt put together.

Starling: loved that class so much I also took her second class. It was fun to watch, but I am unlikely to do stitch and slash.
I also took both those classes and must tell you the stitch and slash was really fun once I got started. Drew out my design and had all my layers exactly where I thought I wanted them, however, as I began to slash I made changes because I could see where I would like another layer than the one in the original design. Then adding couching and hand stitches, so much fun.
Here is a trial layout for my Craftsy BOM Sampler. I am open to suggestions. Any ideas. Oh wait we are all quilters, we always have ideas. LOL. So send them my way.
No quilt work Boo-hoo. I was finally all set to play with my machine after lunch only to discover that with my recent move to a different apartment in the building when I thumped the machine I threw something out of alignment and I can't drop the presser foot. I have spent the afternoon downloading and printing a repair manual. I'm not sure I can fix it myself but I am sure one of my sons will be able to. Hopefully they will make it into the city this week.
I did work on a quilt this weekend and finished the top this morning. It was the "modern mystery" from AQS. One thing I learned from doing this is that I am definitely NOT a modern quilter. lol

donna, your craftsy blocks look great together
Donna - ditto what Gini said. Are you wanting to put sashing strips between them?
