joe, that's a pretty train wreck.
bev, i like your pattern, p3 does some great designs, but i hadn't seen that one.
Jacy, love your block. It makes the Ohio Star look like snap to make. Can you tell me where you got the white fabric you used on the top and right side?
No I didnt but I did finally set up my sewing place at our new home. Now all I need to do is tomorrow ask boyfriend where he put the spool of thread that was on the machine when he moved it for me or if it fell out in the car?

Bonita, I looked at that fabric and it was from a FQ, so no info on the selvage. I think I got it at my LQS earlier this year so you might find it someplace.
Thank you all for your comments on my little block. I should be working on those Ohio stars but my tree looked lonely so I made some friends for him, more 4 1/2" blocks, I picked out some easier ones this time. This is a sampler quilt. I think I'm going to make my cornerstones a variety of colors.
And I really am working on sewing my stars together, It just is tedious matching all those points. I only have 3 long rows to sew and then my top will be ready for borders. Here's a sneak peak of one corner........
great quilts, jacy. you do a nice job with color

Thanks Gini
Jacy,
Beautiful Job! You have a good eye for pulling your colors together. I looked at the midget blocks on the website you listed...Wow! But working them up into 4 1/2 inch blocks just seems too much like punishment to me! LOL!! I'm so glad you have the eyes and hands for working that small.
Me? I like big and floppy, and lots of room for error. I think that is why I like the improv quilts so much...no one can really tell for sure if you made an error or if you intended for it to look like it does.
Your points are perfect and the star quilt is going to be gorgous!

Hi. Nice to meet you as well. I'm fairly new here. :)
Jacy, love your quilts and all the colors! Your Ohio star is perfect!
I started my friend's quilt today...I mean the actual sewing. I spent a long time cutting what felt like thousands of pieces. It's a quilt from the 30s called "Bridal Bouquet". It is a very challenging quilt and if anyone were to ask me to make it again, I would say no. It will be very pretty, but it is labor intensive. I managed to get one complete section done and start on another. You make the blocks in sections.
Hugs,
Beautiful, Jacy. Very well done. I just think that tree is the cutest thing!!
Jacy
Both of your quilts are beatiful.

Jacy, no wonder you are part of the scrap squad. I think they should put you on their payroll for making the quilts in all of their issues!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Maggie, but I can't keep up with all of my projects as it is!
