Max--I loved both your quilts but particularly the red strip. Thanks so much for the explanation.

I went out shopping for spray adhesive and came home with a bias maker as well. Celtic Knot from Leavenworth retreat has given me a bug for a new technique. I am getting set for a cold winter.

Thea--Love your dog quilt.

Wendy :

I have finished quilting the bed quilt I started 15 years ago.  Woo Hoo!!!! Now for the binding. I can't wait to finish it completely and get it washed.

Wendy, I just got a 15 yr old quilt back from the quilter! It took me that long to decide to spend the money that it cost me. I need to bind it now too. I should have done it a long time ago, and it wouldn't have cost nearly so much. I is a king quilt, so you can only imagine the cost. I machine quilted a baby quilt this week and it looks a mess, in my opinion. It will be a while before I attempt to do a large quilt by machine. I need a lot more practice.

Putting my current quilt project on hold because I want to move on to this pattern I just bought. Although when it comes time to work on the stars border I will be ready to move on because the middle is what interests me. This is a pattern from P3 dESIGNS.

Very cute Bev, cannot wait to see it completed. Great use of a Log Cabin block!

Elaine,  I admire that you attempted the machine quilting even on a baby quilt.  I have only done "stitch in the ditch" quilting on my machine.  I am too afraid to try free motion.  Maybe when I have more than 1 1/2 years in this quilting business I may grow some courage.

I wont be quilting for a couple of weeks as I am going to visit family in Missouri.

A picture is worth a 1000 words, Marie!

Thanks Max, the picture makes everything instantly clear, even to tired brains like mine!

Spud, great photo of all those colorful quilts for your grandkids. I bet you're happy to be so close to finishing them, that is a BIG accomplishment.

I've been working on my next scrap squad quilt, 52 ohio star blocks made and now I'm sewing them together. I was tired of looking at that quilt so I took a break and made this little midget block from sentimentalstitches.com

All those tiny pieces wasn't much of a restful break, but now going back to sewing star blocks together will seem like a piece of cake.

Jacy, that is very cool and I have to agree, it does not look all that relaxing.

The Old and the Ugly -- After all you experts saying how this or that one is flawed and you might have to call it a failure, I thought I'd show you a real wreck. This one was made some years ago, facing a crisis move, not in a great frame of mind, to use up the last scraps in the basket, whether they matched anything or not. It is sort of a mix of thunderbird, deformed chicken, alien visitor, and a train wreck. Proving no quilt is a useless throwaway, it hangs in the bathroom. Seeing it frequently reminds me to watch for missed stitches and crooked corners. Pic was hard to take, as you can't really get a good view except from the best seat in the house. Squint your eyes and peek, here it is:

See, I told you.
