I sort of worked on a quilt, I got everything ready, so after lunch I will get at least one of them done.
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
You all here inspire me to try things. So I went and watched the You Tube on tube quilting and after a few mistakes finally got some right! lol My sister wants an outrageous Pink and black quilt so I grabbed some fabric and tried it. Not perfect but, hey, it was fun. I'll make a few more before I sew them together.
I did get the binding done for the cat quilt so that's ready. Then because it's such a beautiful day, sun shine and all I went outside for a while with my dogs. Now I'll rest my back for a bit and then go make some more blocks.
This is why I like this site so much- just look at the inspiration we get and examples like these 'tube' blocks!
Looking good Jody!
Gd job, Donn. I was thinking of something like that too. Need a seasonal one for my dining table. Ginny
Marie, didnt take as you saying I had a problem, only offering help which I always take. What I am thinking is like you said, adding a narrow border, then a 4 or 5 inch one to make it look like matting a picture. But make the "matting" plain so it doesnt take away from the square.
What is a tube quilt? It that the one you sew tubes together side by side and then stuff them?
Well I guess I asked that question a little too soon. I think I have seen this method of making blocks somewhere. I did work on a quilt today, still quilting on the black/white print with red stars, wanted to get it done today but got on the computer instead. bj
Jody I love the colors . you are using. looking good .Barbara
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
NOPE!
But tomorrow going to AST for a lesson on my Baby Lock Ellegante. Going to learn how to embroider the label for my 2 completed baby quilts. so excited. Once I learn how to do this there will be no stopping me!
Jody love you colors and blocks. I just haven't had time lately to get online and read everything. Welcome to all newcomers, sorry it has taken me so long!
Thanks Donna, just wanted to be helpful. Can't wait to see what you do with the placemats.

JodyS, good job and I love the colors! This will make a beautiful quilt.
Thanks Barbara and Marie! It's fun learning new things. I'm so slow but that's OK. Both my sister and I love color so I can't wait to use other colors in this type of block.
Thanks Joni! I tell you seeing all the beautiful work done by folks here really is an inspiration. I just keep thinking: someday you'll be able to do that too!
