I'm slowly working on a linked pinwheel quilt and it's about to get the best of me as it causes me to have to think too hard. I have discovered it has to be done and put together one block at a time to make sure that all of the links match. I've got 2-1/2 rows down, with 2-1/2 to go. I'm only averaging one block a day with everything else that is going on. Still have 2 baby quilts to make...one due in December (girl) and one in March (boy).
My DD1 miscarried early this month, so it has been a trying month for us. They had been trying for so long (she has a 13 year old son from first marriage) and finally got pregnant, and then miscarried at about week 13. Spent many days helping and consoling her.
DD2 is back to work after 3rd son was born in August, so I spend a lot of time with her two older boys who are feeling a bit neglected. I signed them up and am paying for their TaeKwonDo lessons, 4 nights a week. Of course since daughter puts in so much overtime and travel time as a mail carrier in Reno I get to spend my time at TaeKwonDo, too.
Everyone is doing such beautiful work, makes me feel like a quilting slacker...but winter is definitely coming so that should allow me more quilting time and less outside time doing yard work.
Condolences on your DD's loss. That is so tough. Hope things settle down for you soon.
Bonita, ditto what Ramona said.
just wanted you all to know that I have stepped up a notch on the free motion quilting. I did my first border of feathers. Not much to look at but I figure I have to start somewhere. I will post a pic ASAP
Thanks for all the comments on the stressed out pumpkin. LOL And Thea feel free to borrow the pattern as that's what I did from someone else's site. I just printed out the picture and counted the number of squares in the first picture. She used white but wanted to use the green as I have a lot of it.
Karla, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughters loss.
So sorry for your family's loss Karla.
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
Karla, so sorry for your daughters loss. Prayers that she will get through this tough time. God Bless. (((((HUGS)))))
Wendy can't wait to see your feathers. Good for you!
LeftyLou, welcome to our family, can't wait to see your table runner and place mats. If I waited till my brain got unfuzzy, I'd never quilt. LOL
Melissa, you take it easy and get better, your quilting will be there when you are feeling up to it. (((((HUGS)))))
Karla, very sorry to hear this. I went through it with my youngest DD a couple of years ago , it's hard to watch them broken hearted
Finished #4 of the 8 I have scheduled today. That makes 2 done from scratch and 2 that I have quilted in 4 weeks. I make t-shirt quilts, so my raw materials are the tees and basic squares. Some of them are baby tees and onesies, which vary incredibly in size. I have to figure out I have of one size, supplement with sashing and 4 or 9 piece blocks using the tees, etc., etc. I'm feeling quite accomplished today.
I am having trouble keeping caught up. For those who meed encouragement and prayers, I am sending. for you who are achieving bigger and better, Way to go!!
I started this Monday night, sandwiched it last night, finished it tonight. We got a coffee maker at work (the new boss thought it would be nice to serve clients coffee) so I made this for the new coffee area... hope he likes it! There's a stupid mistake that was too late to fix once I noticed it. That's what I get for working at night!
