Thanks Carol for sharing the 1855 quilt with us. I am not so sure I would attempt something like that.

Great news I finally finished my craftsy BOM. Yeah! Will take pictures tomorrow.  So next step planning the assembly.

Donna:

I worked on the Craftsy BOM for October.... paper piecing....my first attempt.  This was difficult for me and it is not perfect, but I dont think it is too bad for a first attempt.

This is beautiful, Donna!  I love this block, good job!

I haven't done a stitch of sewing for three days because I've been moving things around and making a quilting/sewing corner in the chapel.  I've been sewing in the guest room, but with winter coming didn't want to heat that room. With the community closing (except for me) I didn't need a full sized chapel, so sectioned off almost half of it with a screen and made a nice cozy sewing area complete with a design wall -- plastic tablecloth turned backwards.  I decided to take photos as this will probably be the last time it will be neat.  But with the screen, the working area can't be seen from the living room so I can be as messy as I want!  The drop leaf table can open to 36 x 74" workspace.  It's an auction find so I don't mind it getting scratched up.  The pics are the sewing area/ design wall/ and what I am now calling a prayer room.  I just love having a fire on cold mornings, and can be toasty warm meditating or sewing (which is a kind of meditation for me).

What a cosy and clean space you have there BB.  Two questions, dare I ask?  Are you a Nun and have I been offensive to you in my posts?  Hope you know it's all in fun and I'm really a good girl, ask the VB crew, they'll be happy to vouch for me.  :  )

How could you be offensive?  Seriously!  I'm a Solitary Religious (hermit) with the Episcopal Church, so yes a nun, but I don't use that term.  I've taken the same vows as any other monastic/ nun and live a quiet life in as much solitude as possible.  There used to be three of us -- all living on the same property but in separate cabins.  We came together daily for a meal and prayer, but otherwise lived our separate lives.  Since I'm the only one left I sold the two cabins and now live in the main house.  I guess you might say I'm really a solitary now.

I have a ways to go with the quilt corner as I plan on putting in more shelving on the left wall, but haven't purchased the boards and brackets yet.  I'll continue to store excess fabric and supplies in the guest room closet.  But this gives me a sewing area near the fire and I do like being warm in the winter.

Max - your Harry Potter is great.  How long did it take you to do the project?

Your nine patch blocks are very nice Debbie.  They are going to make great Christmas present pillows.

Carol - that quilt from 1855 is awesome.

Sukochi - I don't know about fabrics today being sturdier.  I get the impression that they make everything with a short lifespan now so we have to spend more money to replace things.

Finally finished my friends red and white quilt. Had several interruptions to take me off track, truck repairs for one, but did finish up yesterday. Here are some pictures.
