Judy - you did an awesome job!
Judy, beautiful quilt and I love the border!
After cutting out hundreds of pieces for a quilt for my friend Jan, I just had to take a long break from that project. So I started piecing the Amish exchange blocks from our recent retreat. Here is what I have so far...
Not sure what to do next. Thought about using this piece of fabric. I think there is enough possibly for the backing and maybe to do something in a border. I'm stumped on a border treatment. Will accept any suggestions.
Love the quilt, Judy and esp. the border. Ginny
Thea:Judy - very pretty - love the card trick block you used - and the elongated star - perfect - is this a pattern of your own?
Thanks Thea. I laid it out in EQ7. The enlongated star is a simple Diamond in a Square block. When I plugged it into the 4-1/2" sashing it spread out and I thought it was kinda cool looking. Not so cool cutting it out and assembling it. What a pain in the kaboodie! I just couldn't get it quite right! But I like the effect even though the points are often blunt and don't line up really great. It will look fine on our bed.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Linda. I love your Amish exchange quilt. The simplicity really appeals to me. Great color combinations. I don't have any suggestions for a border. It looks wonderful as it is.
Judy, this is awesome. When did you start making tents like Nana? LOL

Linda, I love your Amish quilt! The solids are so striking together with the black. I don't think I'd border it, looks perfect as is. I might also use a solid for the backing as well.

Marie, I think she inspired me at the Leavenworth retreat last year. I still haven't quilted the 100x100 quiltzilla I put together at that retreat.
