I have to say with my drama full weekend I am glad to be able to read thru some of these post and laugh a litttle. I have managed to have the priveledge to not get stranded once this weekend but twice. It seems when its not convient for anyone including me. I am 3 days behind on erronds and 3 days oif stress daily added. I have taken a little time each day to find my machine and do something....its cheaper than sleeping pills or muscle relaxers.

I won't explain the horrid weekend *pulls hair out* just highlights. My truck left me stranded thanks to the altenator and battery not once but twice. Atleast the first time I had a good lunch at a small local bar I had never been to. Then I cut my fabric wrong for my next project. I couldn't stop there I had to dump rabbit poo down the front of me including in my shoe. Today after long meeting I managed to find out oh yeah the battery you replaced on Friday isn't the problem its the altenator.....*screams why my fabric money*. I am hoping that when I get up in the morning the new week will be better than this last week I only spoke here of 3 days I don't want to remember the other 4 days of the week.

Kris:

kitchen scales have grams and ounces and measuring cups ml and ounces? The ones I have have both.

Around the people I know they don't have kitchen scales it seems. I know some have them but never use them. I just went and got me a new one that does the grams and ounces when I started selling my eggs. After getting comfortable I started using it more for various things like bread making and anything else I can think of.

I'm going to dentist in the morning anxiety mounting but maybe it wont be so bad  I hope.

Rhonnie were you by yourself when you got stuck?  Sorry to hear about the repairs.  I know they can add up quickly.  Hope your week goes better.

Is2116...

Try not to stress over the dentist...hopefully it will be easy and painless physically and to the checkbook.

No I had my DH with me, First time called my son he came with truck and trailer but tonight he was well attached to the bathroom so I really didn't want him out or around us......like I needed that to start my week. My DH is waiting for shoulder surgery due to rotator cuff so his lifting and movements are limited *sigh*. I have been bless to find helpful people around both days to help us....it revives my hope that there are people out there willing to give and help others yet *big smile*

Don't most kitchen scales have grams and ounces

Kitchen scales?  I do a lot of cooking, but I don't have a kitchen scale.

I have one. I use it mostly to measure out recommended food portions/serving size. I thought this was standard equipment.

I don't cook often but when I do I like precise measurements. Can't do it without a recipe.

Angele:
I decided to keep my maiden name even though it is longer and more complicated to say than my DH's name.  But I liked mine more than his so I kept it...

I kept mine too. Both names are easy to say but I like my name the way it has always been. Doesn't sound right with anything else.
