Your heffalump is adorable!

Marie, sashing would definitely make it bigger and also define each block. Sashing with corner blocks, either plain or mini pinwheels would look great.
Gingratulations Gini, for the new DGD coming and also for finding ski boots. I imagine they are downhill ski boots.. I am hoping to go cross country skiing this weekend. Wish me luck!
CC those bracelets are just cute, especially the bones one NCIS I like that show too! Great when I have some hand stitching to do...
your beads are always so interesting. When you put them together, they make a story! They're grrrreat!
Had a mending morning. Darned hole in my down jacket, and holes in nieces DD stretch pants and it was the first time my mending on stretch fabric came out perfect! no ripples or puckers I'm having great start to my day.
Quilting My Rainbow
IS, Id say its a good start as well . LOL Barbara
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
Not quilting yet this morning but I did finish curtains for my sewing area. And repotted a few of my house plants with some fresh soil. (got the garden bug today and its only 9 degrees out. lol) But here is my little sewing area. :)
Better pic of the curtains. (Fabric sale at Joanns. $15.00 in material.)
Debbie, what a cheerful place to sew. Love the curtains.

Pat, Congradulations on your new baby. I happen to know of a Featherweight (with case and accessories) for $350 in an antique shop here, but alas, it might as well be $350,000 for what I can afford right now. You can color me jealous. (Feel free to PM me if you want the name of the shop...)
Debbie, I love your curtains. They're very cheerful. And that quilt on you table is gonna be a stunner when you get it finished up!
thanks for the compliments on my beads. They have the great advantage of being something I can make in a relitively short amount of time with little planning. I had to laugh at my friend who e-mailed me the other day ...to ask if i could make owls. What timing! She lamented that she wished she could think of ways to use beads other then in jewelry. You're all crafty people. Maybe you can help me think of other things to do with them? I use 'em on quilts , of course, and make key chains, zipper toggles and charms. I make sun catchers and plant picks. What else can you do?
I've actually been considering setting up an etsy store to get rid of some of the extras. Trouble is I have no idea how to do it... And I really don't want to be tied to HAVING to make beads and maintain the page. :(
Quilters are people who strip so they won't go topless.
Patti thank you. It is a cosy little corner. I put a hummingbird feeder in the window in the summer but sometimes I get distracted from sewing and just end up watch the birds. lol
CC.. Thank you.. I went back a few pages to look at your bracelets and beads, They are wonderful! I tried to make jewelry and I am not good at it. My beads were mostly stones, Jaspers, opal, tiger eye. So now I have tons of beads and carved stones that I bought off of e bay, I thought I might work them into some wall quilts someday. This is tiger eye.. a carved wolf. I used brass and macrame'd with thin brown jute. Not a good picture.
Patricia Faye: I bought a 1948 Singer 221-1 Featherweight Sewing Machine Egyptian Scroll Face on ebay this evening for an excellent price.
Congratulations!
Interesting... the 1948 that I picked up a couple of weeks ago has the ribbed face. 1948 must have been the year of the switch over. If you are planning to clean/lube/adjust yourself, let me know and I'll share the links to directions and supplies that I am using.

Edit: I see in your later posting that you have other antique machines, so I'm sure you have lots of experience with the maintenance.

nantenn:can i ask what do you all consider a good or excellent price?
Most featherweights I've watched on eBay are going for $250-300, up to $350 if they are immaculate. Some are listed as higher, but I don't see them being bid on. I noticed the prices were leaning higher around the Christmas holidays, so I would avoid bidding during gift-giving holidays.
I got mine for $155 +20 shipping, but the bed surface has some cosmetic flaws and it no longer has all the attachments. I bought mine as a traveling sewing machine, not a collectible, so it's sewing performance is all I'm concerned with. I love that a person can fully maintain this without needing to take it somewhere. Parts and supplies and service advice are readily available online.
Debbie, cute curtains and nice quilt on your table.
