EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
CC. I'm not going to swear to the spelling.... Droga Jachi Koham I can say it but not spell it. FIL was full blood Pole. His first language was Polish and learned English after he went to school. He went to a Catholic School where all classes were in Polish and they had a separate English class. Until his mother died, he had to always speak Polish to her. But he did speak some Polish to his children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was a really nice gesture.

Marie:Thanks to everyone for their comments on my quilts. This layout only makes it about 28" x 40". What size is good for a baby quilt? I haven't made one in years. : )
I like that layout Marie. I agree about adding one more pinwheel to make it wider. You'll have to hide that when I come visit. It might find its way into my bag. LOL.
Diana:Thank You guys for the Birthday wishes....but it's tomorrow...hehehe
Happy Birthday Diana!
Thanks for the heads up Sukochi.
chocake2:All of the coolest people are born in January! LOL
You could be right. DH was last week, my grandmother two days ago (85) and SIL next week.
chocake2: Been fiddling with some of the beads I took out of the kiln this week. I was inspired by the fabric Brandy is usin' on her Must Dash Quilt for this one. DD is a huge NCIS fan (Bet you can guess who her fav character is....)and that little pink bow just seemed to fit for her... Who's the Big Cheeze? The Mousie on this one started out to be something else entirely but it decided it wanted to be a rodent instead. i'd made the cheezes for another project, but they seemed to want to want to be here instead. *shrug* Who am I to argue?

I love these. Nice work. You never cease to amaze me.
Patricia Faye:I am so excited! I bought a 1948 Singer 221-1 Featherweight Sewing Machine Egyptian Scroll Face on ebay this evening for an excellent price.
Congratulations. Have a good visit and enjoy your new "toy".
Oh no Mimi.....now I have a vision of Gini rolling around in the store floor half naked while someone tries to pull a boot off her foot. Of course Sam is standing aside laughing.

Patricia,
congrats on your new baby..can i ask what do you all consider a good or excellent price? I have a newly acquired space in my den (gave DS the chair that was there) and was thinking of adding to my antique collection, i have a small childs rocker seat, i have a cream separater from late husband's farm. I also have an old singer, heavy metal type machine that i have no idea if it runs or even how old?
Nan
Marie: Thanks Nana and CC, you're right, it needs to be wider. The pinwheels were leftover from the star blocks on the big one and I don't think I have enough of the red to make 2 more blocks but I'll see.

Take the bottom row of blocks and add them to the right side of the quilt and you will only need one blue block. It will give the quilt a square shape and then you can add borders as needed to get to the size you want. I always liked square quilts with my babies....they were easier to wrap up in a square than a rectangle.

The mousie bracelet reminds me of the great mouse hunter Gini...LOL
Diana, happy birthday tomorrow ..LOl hope yo have a great one.

Congratulations on your new baby. i know that you will love her.

I've seen them as high as $400 - $500 on ebay & my LQS. I got this on the ebay auction for $227 plus $29.95 postage. I've tried numerous times before but got lucky tonight.
I have a Singer treadle machine that's never worked & I never felt comfortable enough to work/attempt to fix it. I have a Singer 99K portable I bought on ebay a year or so ago & a 99K in a small cabinet that was my Mother's. They both work great. My husband refinished the cabinet & it looks so very nice. Then I have 2 Brother machines, a Janome & an Alco (Nechi) that I bought new in the 1970's. I have plenty of machines but have always wanted a featherweight.
CC those owls are SOOO cute! I love owls. ..always have. They would look great in a tree wall hanging!
