Marie

Your quilts are both so pretty.  I don't know for sure about the second quilt.  Seems a little narrow to me so  I would maybe add sashing.

Snowing and I have to run errands and I just don't want to go out.  My whole body is aching from moving furniture around the other day.

Thanks to everyone for their comments on my quilts.  This layout only makes it about 28" x 40".  What size is good for a baby quilt?  I haven't made one in years.  :   )

Marie

Do you have any of the block fabric left to make one more pinwheel?   If so I would shorten by one row and increase the width with another row of blocks.

Gini

Hope the boot fitting went ok. I had mine "custom fitted" about 4 years ago. We only ski once a year now for 10 days but they were well worth the money I have to admit.

DH had his custom fitted in the sales WHEN we got home from our last skiing holiday so he hasn't actually used them yet. They had better be comfortable as even in the sale they weren't cheap! We expect more snow in UK tonight it is snowing a little already but then rain tomorrow so should wash it all away. 3rd part of mystery quilt all day tomorrow will be careful as last time I went was when I fell flat on my back. And as I am still struggling I will be extra careful.

Congradulations on the new Grand daughter gini. I'm sure she'll be every bit the Tomboy her grandmother is. LOL

Marie, I like the lay out, but I'd make it a little wider.  Most of the baby quilts I got when Sprout hatched were 35-45" square, more or less.  I like the bigger ones for  play mats and in the crib, and the smaller ones are nice for the car seat and cover-ups at feeding time.

Quilters are people who strip so they won't go topless.

Thank You guys for the Birthday wishes....but it's tomorrow...hehehe    But it's nice to see it even if it is a day early.  DH does the same thing.   He starts wishing me about a week before so he can get it on the right day, eventually.  He's so bad at dates.  I had to remind him that his Mom's birthday was last Monday so that he could remember to wish her a Happy Birthday.  Tomorrow is the weather gets better, he will take me out for lunch for my favorite meal.  Chicken and Dumplings at Cracker Barrel.  Sounds weird, I know, but their dumplings remind me of what my Mom used to make me every year.

Marie your quilt is gorgeouse! It is christmas' or patriotic to me.  When I worked at JoAnns the measurement we always gave for crib quilts was 36X45".

Thanks Nana and CC, you're right, it needs to be wider.  The pinwheels were leftover from the star blocks on the big one and I don't think I have enough of the red to make 2 more blocks but I'll see.

Marie, one more pinwheel would give you 5x5 (25) instead of the 4x6 (24) you have.
