I just spent a wonderful 4 days off of work with my awesome husband and my boys came over yesterday for Christmas dinner. If there is food they will be there LOL. Now back to work today. :( Technically, we aren't even open yet but, the wind bags are already here. It is so hard to go back to work after a few days off. It never seems like it was long enough. I keep telling myself that I work to buy fabric to quilt :)

Barbara, I love your new motto: Eat, Sleep, Quilt!  Just what I want to do for the next week of holidays.

well this was a quiet Christmas as DS1 is here but DS2 &3 were not able to come.  After the storm, DS2 got sick.  I think he feels like Sukochi.  DDIL too was sick but she bounced back faster. As it takes them about 20 hours to drive home, I'm glad they decided to stay as this crazy weather is unpredictable.

Good blustry, wet morning. Hope all those in this latest storms path are safe and warm.

I have seomthing different to share. I came across a recipe that is from my DBIL's family that is 78 years old. I know some of you make preserves. So here is a recipe for.......

Amber Pear Preserves

4 cups under-ripe pears

3 cus sugar

1-1/2 tbsp. lemon juice

Peel and chop under-ripe pears. Let stand overnight, with sugar and lemon jouice. Stir, then put on low fire and let simmer, until pears have turned amber color, about 2 hours. Go by color. Stir to be sure it isn't sticking. Pour in prepared jars and seal. Use all juice. You are really in for a treat.

My DS brings us a few jars whenever se comes to visit from us in TN where my DBIL's family goes back for generations. Jim LOVES these preserves. I do, too. Sometime, we get a jar of the juice, as well. Great on ice cream or pancakes.

That would be 3 CUPS of sugar. I don't think it would work if you just "cuss" the sugar 3 times. LOL

Angele:

Oh my Frances, I was complaining of the cold (-23) but ill take the cold over that much rain any day.i do hope it stopped for Christmas.  Please be safe and careful.

No it is still raining, they think its the most rainfall we have had since records began in about 1910.

Ah well at least you all know why we have such green grass now.

Barbara:

Thanks CC I will be watching for the cap .  WOW that is so cool. LOL   Barbara

I wonder if it really will turn up in any of the episodes. I know he occasionally wears sweat shirts and t's from fans in those scenes.

Quilters are people who strip so they won't go topless.
