Today is my birthday, 63...my family tells me that I've celebrated my 21st 3 times already. They all took me out to dinner last night at our local Chinese Buffet...my husband chose it even though he does not like Chinese. He knows it is one of my favorites and I very seldom get to have it.
Then the kids all came over for b'day cake and gifts. Made a haul this year...a Kindle Paperwhite, $75 in gift cards to the LQC, and $25 to JoAnn's. I think they know me pretty well.
Now I've got to clean up the house, get my sewing stuff put away, and get ready to host Christmas Dinner tomorrow. I don't think that anyone will be coming over tonight to open gifts, I think they will open all of their gifts with their kids tonight, get to bed early so Santa can come, and then come over tomorrow for dinner and gifts here.
Well, I better get busy, will take me forever to clean up the sewing stuff strung all over the dining room and living room.
Hope you all have a very, very Merry Christmas and that Santa brings you everything you want/need. It snowed earlier today, but now the sun is shining and I think our White Christmas is melting away.
Karla:ay is my birthday, 63...
Conratulations! Happy Birthday to you! Yep, think you made a haul. Ginny
Congratulations! Happy Birthday to you! Yep, think you made a haul. Ginny
Happy birthday Karla! What lovely gifts you received!!!
today I am listening to the Advent series from my church and sewing the jersey quilt together. Half the top is together. Thankfully the border and backing are just black and no fancy quilting will be done. It is a show piece, so no batting either. I think I am going to hit Starbucks for a triple shot pumpkin spice latte. I feel like I need it...
Donna B: Frances, here's hoping Gr. Britain dries out soon! I am so glad you live high and dry! Having grown up in an area with annual flooding, I could never understand why people would buy or live in lowland flood areas, but they must have their reasons. I am envying you being able to grow tomatoes in your greenhouses at this time of year. I tried it one year and was not very successful. I had plenty of auxiliary heat, but I think it was the lack of enough artificial daylight that caused the problem. I might try again one of these years. We love fresh tomatoes and what we can buy here in the winter are not very good at all! Best wishes for your holiday season,

Well now I feel a little better, but sad that you aren't going to be able to tell me all your secrets for greenhouse tomato success!
Keep your tootsies dry... ( I hope that has the same meaning in England as it does here...LOL! I'm talking about toes!!!)

Marge (AKA Dimples):OK - so I haven't been posting for quite a while. I just haven't been interested in getting frustrated with the site.
Marge,
It's good to "see" you. Enjoy your embroidery club and new ironing board.
Frances:If anyone has any prayers they can spare it would be appreciated over here as it has been raining constantly apart from yesterday and today ive just woken up and its back again we have over 170 flood warnings in place but this is likely to go back up with the amount of rain we are expecting and in some areas people are advised not to make there journey unless essential.
Prayers going up Frances.
Your gardens sound lovely. My place is where plants come to die. Black thumb over here.
Nana:We had a bit of a tragedy in our family today. Holly the elf was attacked by Jaxon the great dane
How terrible. I'm glad the surgeons were able to repair the damage. All is well. Great story.
