Frances and Debbie, I found a site online that gave me a pattern for the 1/2" and the 1/4" hexagons. OMGosh! Since I decided to try the 1/2", I cut 24 out from the junk that comes in the magazines and will see how far I get with one. Will let you know how I make out. : ) Not today, I woke up with the nastiest cold and cough so the most I'll do today is drink lots of tea and maybe read in between naps. I was due to get my flu shot on Monday but will cancel that until next week.
Y'all have a nice Sunday!

Marie, I'm sorry to hear that you caught a bad bug. Get well sooner than later, OK? Ginny
Marie,
Sorry you are feeling bad and hope you are feeling better soon.
Templates for hexagons are easily available online i must admit i download hexagons then make the first one out of template plastic and use that one to make the rest. By the way what fabric are you going to use.
Ginny took the words right out of my mouth, Marie. Feel better!!

Thanks to all for your good wishes.
Frances, I tend to like the fall colors so I think I'll go with that. The pattern is in "Grandmother's Flower Garden" and it's the WELCOME HOME pattern, except I'll replace HOME with FRIENDS.
That sounds great, if its the book with all miniature ones in ive just ordered it as i love the one on the front cover.
THE NAME OF THE BOOK IS "QUILTS FROM GRANDMOTHER'S GARDEN", not GFG. Sorry, my mistake. Not responsible for much today.

Yep Marie,
Thats the one ive just ordered, you might even have convinced me to try a mini one, if now i will just use the patterns but use bigger hexagons.
Frances, I'm feeling much better today so maybe I'll try the 1/2" hex by the end of the day and let you know how it went. Keep me posted on how you'll increase the background unit if you're going to use larger hexagons.

So Marie,
How did you get on are you like me an addict yet???

Not yet Frances. I did make the components for one flower last night but the coughing got in the way of my sewing it together. I may do that this evening, the coughing is a little less now. The 1/2" hex is a bit small so I'm not sure if I'll get addicted to that size. I'll see how it goes when I sew the pieces together, may end up doing like you and make the piece larger so I can use the inch hex. I'll keep you posted.
Marie Honey,
When you have a cough, you need to find someone to rub your chest for you.
