I have hard floors and my machine foot pedal slips. Bugs the heck out of me. So I took some of that rubber waffly stuff you can buy at kitchen stores and RV supply places. I cut a piece out, put it on the floor and put the pedal on top of that. It stays put. Won't move an inch!

In our house we call this stuff "sticky butt" because when my daughter was very young she was wiggly sitting at the table so we put a piece of this on the chair so she would "stick" to the chair...even though she is 16 now, we still call it sticky butt! It's very useful stuff!  It's on the platform of my sewing cabinet where my sewing machine rests so it won't get nudged out of place when I put the platform up and down.  Great stuff!

Wonder if this will work on carpet.  Will have to give it a try.  I am forever chasing my pedal across the floor.

Judy,

I use that stuff to keep the cats' bowls from scooting across the floor. Works great.

I use a velcro strip for the carpet.

Nana,

It didn't work well on carpet so I took some heavy duty velcro (the kind that has the adhesive on the back) and applied the hook side to the bottom of my foot pedals.  It works great!!

I used this on carpet before I had hardwood floors installed.  Works fine for carpet and for solid surface floors.  My mother had purchased one of the holders for the fott pedal, and this stuff works just as well.

Judy, I'm glad it works for you, doesn't for me.  My floors are hardwood but that shouldn't make a difference?

By the look of things, I'm the only one having this problem with the "sticky butt", must be doing something wrong.

Marie, my floors are also hardwood. (picture was taken on my counter top). The stuff I use is fairly thick. I got it at Lowe's in the carpet section. There is also the shelf liner stuff which is a little thinner and maybe not as rubbery?

We also use it in our RV. I put it under the teakettle on the stove and the coffee pot on the counter. They never slide around when we're traveling and we often go over some rock and roll roads.
