Maggie:

Gini, are you lonesome tonight?  Maybe Sam has been gone too long.  LOL     I can hardly wait to meet you!

i am procrastinating, and i have decided this word would sound better as procrastinotion.  i have  a notion i should be quilting, but i'm in here gabbing.    sam is too long gone.  he gets back tomorrow, but don't bet on this late night jabbering stopping.  i'm a night owl.

i have to protect myself somehow.  nancy is bigger than me, and she's calling in all the fabric snatchers to do snatch and   grab in my studio.

that was a nice deflection up above, don'cha think?   i'll have to square it with diana, somehow, but we're buddies.   i'll just grin at her and she'll forgive me.   :  )

we are buddies, right diana?

Actually, I got up to see the northern lights.  They've been talking about them on the morning news, so when I woke up just now and noticed the stars were shining yet some bright light was creating a brilliance all around the house, I rushed out onto the deck to see if I could spot the northern lights.  No.  The bright glow would come and go, but it wasn't the aurora borealis as I've seen it before.  So I pulled up the computer to check the radar, (appears it's lightning from thunderstorms just south of us), and came across Gini talking to herself here.

So this is what all you late-nighters have to listen when you're sewing into the wee hours?   LOL

I think the northern lights story might have been almost a week ago - time passes so quickly in retirement!  Last night's brilliance was distant lightning - too far away to hear thunder.

i was on a trip in montana once with some girl friends.   it was a hot summer day with storm clouds brewing.   as we toured the town, one of my friends said, you know the cemetary on the hill would be a good place to watch the lightening.  and so there we were on the fourth of july, sitting on the top of a hill in a cemetary in a little town in montana, watching one of the most spectacular fireworks displays ever, put on by old mother earth herself.

i'm staying up to see if the northern lights will come out tonight.  they can be pretty spectacular, too.

OK Gang,   What's this about raiding my stash?   Yes, Gini, we're friends....but when it comes to my stash....hehehehe

I know that last weekend everything was either very slow or non-existant because of the solar flares.  This heat also has a lot to do with it.  Storms have been rapant in some areas so that wouldn't help the situation, either.  You'll just have to find the time that the system works best for you.

Well, I may be off line for a couple weeks.  I'll try to sign in when I can.  I'm heading off into the Adirondack Mts. Monday morning.   I'll check in with you Monday night from the hotel in Pa., but then to the mts.  Dear SIL has phone sign on only and that''s for work.  It's really slow so may not get on line much if at all.

I'll have the downstairs doors double locked so no one need bother to try to raid the place...hehehe   And my cleaner is coming by twice a day to take care of my kitties.   She's also going to shampoo my carpets while I'm gone. so there........

Stephanie:

Barbara:
This site has been running strange for a couple of weeks , I don't know why but QCA,  really need to get it checked out .

I keep my  computer up to date.  and this site is always slow compared to others, Especially when replying to a post, or adding pic's. Still love it though.....

I haven't been posting much lately, but haven't gotten much reading done either because the site has been so slow moving from page to page.  Surprisingly, yesterday, the last message I posted was snatched immediately when I pressed the post button but still took too long for the page to come up to see if it had posted properly.  This is probably why there have been more than the usual number of duplicate posts.  I usually try to read some posts each night even though I don't post, but have given up some nights.  I usually blame my dial-up service for the slowness, but when I go elsewhere and response is immediate, even on dial-up, I feel the problem is here.

Stephanie, because of my slow dial-up, I have to make sure my computer is updated and uncluttered.  That doesn't help here.

That's got to be the understatement of the year!

I swear weeks are only four days long now.  Friday is normally the day we head into town for errands, and it truthfully feels like that rolls around every four days.  I would have preferred my working weeks had flashed by that quickly and that retirement weeks would be long and leisurely.

Kath, are you retired now?

Yes, Nancy.  I've been retired for a little over a year.  I've got more stuff to do now than ever before too!
