rather than cutting off triagle for mq6 i sewed the second seam to right then cut . i'm doing solids. now for another quilt i plan on sewing all the left over square of hst together then cut a circle how could i achieve a stain glass look rather than a bunch triangles sewed together ? any ideas?

if you put a skinny 1/4 inch strip of black between all of the triangles, it will look like stained glass. that might be kinda hard. you could stitch them all together and applique a skinny strip over all the seams.

Thanks gini and wow your quick at answering any way this one is on my eventually list because i have the mq6 working on plus a bom before joining qca i was a one quilt at a time person .
One way that makes it quicker to sew on those 1/4 inch strips, is to take a long strip and sew on a triangle one after another, but leaving space between for the triangle points.

i never thought to strip piece them, that's a good idea
To get the stained glass effect, you could do a satin stitch in black on the front at the seams. Might even be a good way to quilt it.
today i'm thinking that maybe i would look at black lace to do an overlay because this quilt woul be more like a wall quilt its just a thought.
Just had another thought for this project I might crochet a doilly overlay in black thread.
