QuiltingMom Posted: Fri, Apr 27 2012 7:34 AM

I am new to the club and wanted to spend a moment telling everyone about myself.  I love crafting of all sorts.  I knit, crochet and sew.  I have a full-time job and two children so I don't get to spend as much time as I would like doing those things.  As my children get older I am finding that I am able to take more time for me!  Yay!  I have always worked on smaller quilting projects but about 10 years ago (yes, very long time) I started on a king-size quilt for our master bed.  It sat in the corner for most of that time waiting to be basted.  I just couldn't get a handle on how to baste something that big, especially since my time to craft is limited!!  I stumbled across the "board" method and it works like a dream.  I had to borrow an 8' table and take over the garage but it is perfect.  It keeps the quilt off the floor and I can just pop into the garage whenever I want and work for awhile.  I was really excited to find this website because I am sure that the knowledge and experience that must be out there will help me through any struggles I may come across with quilting!  And someday maybe I can be the one to offer advice!

Welcome to the club Quiltingmom,

You will definitely love it here. Never be afraid to ask questions here. This club is the nicest group of people I've seen on any web site.  Again, welcome.

Welcome Quilting Mom.   Hope you enjoy your time with us.   I so agree that basting king size quilts can be a real pain.  I tend to make lots of king size quilt tops and then they go in the UFO bin until I get the energy to sandwich them.
