At 70 I just started quilting and love it! I have made two crib size quilts, one all pink, and the other all colored elephants for a boy. When I get back from vacation, I'm starting a twin-size quilt. Then the sky is the limit!! I'll have to start adding on to the house for room to store them!! Have some fabulous material stores in Framingham, MA, and one in Milford, MA.
I have made clothes for myself and others, and lots of home decorating items. After a stroke, 15 years ago, I got into crocheting, and have made lots of afghans. Now I am sewing up a storm! Just got a new Brother Quatro 2 and it is the bomb! I told my husband that it was so advanced it would make coffee and toast in the morning for him!!!
Welcome dbldlt!
Better late than never :) Congratulations on your new machine! You are going to have so much fun creating new quilts with it. Be sure to post pictures of your crib quilts if you haven't yet given them to the lucky babies.

I just got my mom hooked on quilting, too, and it is fun to watch. She was almost 70 and now my two sisters tease her by calling her by my name. It's kind of funny. I say you are never too old to learn and what better way to spend your retirement years. I would like to find a machine that made my coffee, though!
Dbldlt hello and welcome to the group.
