It's cold wet and dreary here..but at least I don't have all those seagulls to contend with! LOL
Love the quilts. I can't believe retreat week is half over, but it looks like a whole lotta progress is being made.
Quilters are people who strip so they won't go topless.
I think I know why these retreats are different than others people attend. Most retreats are expensive and with strangers, and people are cautious about letting their hair down, much less put on capes and bling, bikini shirts, dance, take pictures of bums, flirt with the natives and turn into elves and gremlins during the night.
And ours ages are in the purple hat range, when we feel comfortable being silly, and just having a great time with friends, and we know how to laugh!
I might need to buy some 'depends' before retreat this year.

I thought I recalled seeing that tat in one of her home pictures or something previously, but I was sure someone had already guessed it. How about that , guess my memory hasn't left yet. LOL Ginny

I think the white butt is mine but if I am wrong I will live up to my middle name and now you will have to ask Gini what that is

Sam, I thought for sure it was our resident daredevil Gini : - )

Patti, you are so right and I wonder if the quilt shop at Mrs. Anderson's could lay in a supply of Depends while we are there! LOL
Maybe all the Southeast Retreat participants should go get matching tattoos in memory of their VB retreat 2012. Seems like the last time I was in VB there was an abundance of parlors around. Maybe a cute little starfish with 2012 in the middle...or a mermaid?
You ladies are doing fabulous work! And you seem to being doing what you can to support the Virginia economy. Keep up the good work!
Kris, thanks so much for being the historian!

I'm willing to bet Marie goes to see the Chippendales. She seems pretty practiced putting that tip in the beach buns pants!!
I love the Beach blocks, i think someone should start this up as a group quilt on QCA, i think they are stunning and very different.
lots of love

Melissa Halpain: Kris, Thank you so much for taking and posting all these pictures. I feel like I'm almost there too. I am pretty new to this club and quilting so it's fun to try to put the names to the faces. Barbara is the first one I got to know through the FMQ group. Now I'm getting to know the rest. I'm so glad they are having such a good time. I may have to try a retreat myself someday. Too new to quilting right now though. Keep up with the fun and the beach "buns" for us all at home.

Melissa,
If you ever have the opportunity to go on a retreat, take it with both hands, new or not makes no difference, you will learn more with friends willing to teach you all the tricks of the trade, rather than in a class where you are one of 20 people. I live in England retreats here are expensive and mostly with a bunch of strangers next year i will be trying to get to one of the retreats over in the states, im not a wonderful quilter or very experienced but i wouldnt let that stop me for one minute. Everyone on this forum is so willing to share from tips to ideas, i know that retreats must be the same. If you can take the chance and go because life has a funny way of changing your plans for you.
Linda:Who's watching Gladys? She's soooo cute!!!!
I had the same question! LOL -Course the guys in the house are probably helping her watch the gals and secretly keeping an eye on Gladys. Love the vases you did Gladys - so pretty and resourceful.
