Since I have to change needles so frequently (I can't stop sewing), I am sharing with you an idea that was shared with me. Select an empty pill or medicine bottle that you purchase on a regular basis. Drill a hole in the cover that will accomodate your needle. Put the cover back on the bottle. When your needle needs replacing, put it through the hole and it will stay in there. No one will be in danger of getting stabbed. When the bottle gets full, put the pierced cover on a new empty bottle, the solid cover on the old bottle and dispose of the full bottle safely.

Great tip Sonja! I use an empty pill bottle for needles, broken pins, etc. I never thought about a hole in the top though. Sounds like something I will be trying.

Great tip! Empty spice bottles work well, too, and already have the holes in them.

I use pill bottles and empty dental floss containers. When full, they can go into recycling.
I do this very thing. It's a great idea!
