Wendy :
Love your colors Wendy.
I was hoping to get my quilt finished for the Viewer's Choice, but it wasn't to be. Between my bad days and Miss Futie's bad days (unfortunately, not the same days), my top is still short one long inner border and I'm still trying to get the outer borders organized. They'll be easy, just long strips of fabric, so requires 12 seams to join the borders to each other and then four more seams to join the borders to the quilt. Then miter them all at once, and Oh Boy! it's done. I'm shooting for getting a pic posted this week in this forum.

It's Quilting! You're supposed to be having fun!
Everyone's quilts are exceptional! There are so many examples of creativity it will be very difficult to pick just one. I love seeing how one pattern looks so different depending on fabric choices and borders. Great work, all of you, not just those who posted in the Viewer's Choice thread. Can't wait for MQ 7!
Sandy, kudos to you for maintaining your composure in the face of the same questions being asked seven ways from Sunday! I admire your energy and effort in making this an enjoyable experience for all. Thanks so much!
Donna: Yes Karen I would appreciated pics when you get the chance, but please dont wake up the granddaughter. My concern is that is this making the square smaller or are you just trimming the corners. To solve the problem on the scrappy project for July where we need 30 12 1/2 by 12 1/2 squares, I have made the 2 squares that I have finished (yes only 2 lol) 14 by 14 and then used by 12 1/2 square ruler, centered the ruler in the middle and trimmed all sides. But that does mean material goes into the trash. Self teaching quilting is a difficult task.

Donna, you are NOT making the squares smaller-just trimming the excess of the 4.5" x 4.5" square. You do have some material waste, but I prefer the little bit of wasted material to my squares not being the same size when you go to sew them together.
There are a lot of videos online that you can use-check "you tube." ALSO, I think QCA offers some videos of quilting instruction. I've seen a couple and they are very helpful.
GD has gone home and I'll try to get a couple photos posted tomorrow for you.

Sandy,
How do we vote? I don't have you as one of my friends (yet!), so how do I 'friend' you?
Hi Christine, to add anyone as a friend, you click on their name at any of their messages or postings. Then when you are on their home page, in their top box you click on "Add as a friend". Then you will be able to send her a message when she confirms you as a friend :-)
Thank you, Mary!
I'm finished! And I even did the machine quilting! But for some reason I cannot get my photo on the viewer's voting photo page! The solids are hand dyed fabrics from a local artist, I wanted this quilt in the running to support all the fabric artist out there! Ah well!! I love it and I hope all of you do too! This was my first mystery quilt and I loved the process and excitement! See you all next time!
Hi Patanne, you're quilt is so pretty in those hand dyed fabrics. I like how you pieced the narrow border. Terrific that you already did the quilting!
Thanks Sheri!
