just looking at everyone's quilts again. Just amazing! I was thinking it is going to be so hard to vote. Maybe they could have different categories for us to vote on?

I Started this quilt not knowing who it would go to but had much nostalgia over the fabric. Then it hit me! the first Grand daughter who came in and recognized the fabric would get the quilt when finished. It was my oldest Grand daughter (Now 21) who started giggling, got all excited and said she knew the fabric was used to make a long skirt and vest for x-mas when she was about 5 yrs old. YUP, she wore that skirt and vest out! It was made with tiers of this fabric and she would twirl her little heart out. I was over to her house and folding laundry one nite and saw the skirt was faded and worn. Her mom asked me to put new elastic in the waist as it was still her favorite. By then it was up to her knees and a lovely silver grey colour. SHE will definitely get this for x-mas this year. It should machine quilt beautifully. I think I might have some lovely horsey/straw like fabric for the back. That will give it a rich GOLD colour binding.
I loved making this quilt! Lots of warm fuzzy attached.

Dorothy - what a great story to go with a great quilt. I am sure your DGD will be thrilled to get this for Christmas. Great job!
Judy T-Bellingham: Honestly, sometimes the feeling was so strong I had to stop and catch my breath and compose myself. Dang, I miss that woman.
Beautiful story and beautiful quilt. I really like your layout and border treatments. I am sure your mama is very proud of her girl and appreciates you "listening" to her.
Dorothy, Love you rendition, o the mystery quilt. What a great memory to give to your granddaughter. Ginny
Dorothy--I love your quilt! I think I have some Daisy Kingdom fabric at home, too! Isn't it pretty? You did a great job. I particularly like the checkerboard in between the squares and the border.

Taking a break from MQ6! DH really likes and I keep making it bigger for him. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel I really want to start on scrappy project. I've been to 2 LQS in the last 2 days buying material for the MQ6 - and believe it or not I only bought for the MQ6. DH thought I was ill :)
I've just been looking through the finished tops. Nice job everyone.
Dorothy, I love your layout, who knew it could take on another look so different from the others, WOW! I also loved your story about the fabric, giving it to that particular granddaughter will make this a very cherished quilt.

Dorothy your quilt is wonderful, absolutely wonderful, both the quilt and the story. I've also made a couple of fancy Daisy Kingdom pattern/fabric dresses for my now 21 year old granddaughter and may try something like this. I really like your layout, it makes a beautiful medallion quilt.

Dorothy, Beautiful Christmas quilt and love the border treatment. Loved the story with it.
All of the quilts are beautiful! It's fun to see how different they all look even though we made the same pattern.
