Control? snicker. I am the queen of control. My 16 patches ended up with identical centers because I didn't like the clash the individual 4 patches made otherwise. Might be a problem created by the fact I've only 7 different prints. Off to finish step 4 and hopefully step 5. I'll post a pic later if I get done.
I would like some helpful direction (funny play on words)? For those who have completed step 5, some of you have had an easier time by repressing the seam on these blocks toward the background square. Would this be on all the corners of these blocks? Or as I go just on neigboring corners so as to nest adjacent seams?
you guys are so fast. I have been golfing and gardening today. Hopefully I will get to step 5 tomorrow but in the meantime I am just enjoying looking at all the pretty quilts in the making.

I just re-pressed the seams I needed to. Worked out well for me thanks to the input I received from some of the other group members!! Thanks again ladies.
Cindi, I thought I was the queen of control...lol....I see I have competition. My step 1 [ 4 patches] are waiting , laid out how I want them.... Step 2's are waiting... Step 3's are ' pinned' and waiting Step 4 [ see Step1 ] lol and Step 5 are all waiting for Friday . I will not frog what is done....that is why I am also waiting. I learned a big lesson with this ....I HAVE TO HAVE CONTROL.... I am glad to see I am not the only one ....But I am still having fun, I hope you are too!
I finally got cought up on my MQ! This is what my steps 4 and 5 look like:

okay I have a question that doesnt pertain to this quilt but to a log cabin one. I want to rag quilt the squares together. I gather that I need to probably add extra width to the last rows but not sure how much. I have done a rag quilt before but I dont remember off hand, it seemed like I had to do a large seam. I am going probably do the lining and back with flannel, seemed to work well with the last one I did. Will probably quilt the blocks before I put them together. I am not a new new quilter but know just enough to be dangerous......

Hi Betty I guess I will have to give up my control queen crown. I just made sure I did dark and light alternating. But the good thing about that is I did not have any nesting issues when seams came together. I am so happy with the way it is turning out. I keep playing around wondering how it will end.
Anyway finished step 5 waiting for Friday. Hopefully I can post some more picutres later this week.
