Sandy H.:

CORRECTION TO STEP 5.

You are making 24 blocks not 16.

I am very sorry for the error in this step.  When I wrote this step, I was going off the pattern instructions I received, not what I had made.  I'll get with QCA Mandy on Monday to have the instructions corrected.

They haven't officially changed it but will; we are to make 24 for Step 5

Hey Barb,  I too am a St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Although I live in Arizona now,  spent the first 52 years of my life as a Missourian.  Went to Phoenix on May 7th to see the Cardinals play the Dbacks.  I was thrilled when the Cards won.  One the way day my DB said, " You are gonna wear that Cardinals shirt to a Dback game?"  I said, " I am not going to a Dback game,  I am going to a Cards game"  LOL

Yay, Donna!   I'd be wearing my Cardinal Jersey to ANY cardinal game I'd go to, no matter where!  Once a Cardinal Fan, Always a Cardinal Fan!

Well so many of you seem to whipping out step 5, but it is whipping me.  lol  However I now have 2 (yes only 2) four block squares that a somewhat even.  Even enough for this beginner.  I guess the good thing is this will keep me going most of the week until the next step comes out.  The bad thing is all the other projects I am working on get put on hold AGAIN.  lol  Its times like this I wish I didnt work so I could quilt more.  But maybe in 2 1/2 years if my daughter gets out of the private college on time.

So I find myself, pinning, and easing here and easing there, and repinning,  then unsewing and doing it again.  LoL.  Now I am up to 4.

So glad I finally had some time to check in.  I thought I'd actually gotten all caught up, wondering what we were going to do with the leftover blocks. Now I know there was an error in the Step 5 instructions, so it's back to the sewing machine after the dinner dishes are cleared up. Feels good to basically be caught up though, after being behind for so long.

I'm so far behind!  I think I have all the step 4s done, but won't know for sure until I press them and can count the finished blocks.  I've finished the step 3s, that was easy!  Still not certain I have all the step 2s done, which will impact step 5!  What have I gotten myself into???  As for the seams not nesting, I've finger pressed the seam I want to change.  Since there are no seams crossing until now, it's easy enough to reposition the seams and when you press the blocks, you can set the seams.

The jury is still out on my fabric choices.  Sometimes I look at it and it looks G*d-AWFUL!  Other times, I think it won't be my favorite quilt, but it isn't that bad.  Urban Odessey from Connecting Threads is way different from my normal traditional fabrics, but I decided to go for it, for a change of pace.

Great job Dara Beth.  The colors are luscious. I wish I could say the same.  Still working on them.  Spent lots of time outside in the garden today weeding and planting the hanging baskets.  Need another grass liner and some energy.  I'm gonna try to sew a little before bed.  Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Dara,  I wish I knew how to get mine as perfect as you did yours.  Maybe after I have more than 1 year experience.

Hi all, I have some of step 5 done all are at least at 2's. Just need to finish the rest to 4's. I do have other projects going so want to get this done so i can get back to the other. I know when I introduced myself to this forum i said I like to finish one project before starting another. Well I said I like to not that I always succeed.

Hello everyone!  I finished Step 5 today & have put everything away until I return from my daughter's in Maryland on 5/28.  Can hardly wait to spoil my granddaughter (age 4 months).

Will catch up after I get back home!
