HI everyone, I am so excited to start quilting. I just bought a new Brother sewing machine and have started the Block of the Month on Quilty. I have quilted in the past. I remember every winter my grandmother had a quilt in frames set up in the living room. My Great Aunts and my Aunts would all stop by and add a few stitches as they talked. I also added a few. That was many moons ago. But I believe I have caught the quilting bug....so I am jumping in with both feet. I may have questions and I do believe this is a good starting point. Thanks for letting me join in the fun of Quilting. Happy Quilting everyone.

Welcome to the site.  I hope you enjoy your time with us.   I remember my mom and grandmother having quilts set up in frames and all the aunts would stop by and help quilt.   I was too young to add stitches at the time.  I feel sure that once you get that first quilt under your belt you will be addicted to quilting.  Ask any questions you may have.  There is always someone that can help.

I see a couple of West Va sweatshirts in your avatar.  Are you from WV?   My DH is from the Lewisburg area and we lived there for about 20yrs before we moved to VA.

Hi Susan, I am from West Virginia. In a small town called Reader. I am so excited to get started and happy to have so many quilting friends. I will be 50 in May and am a very crafty person. This is something I have wanted to get back into for a while now. So here I go! Thanks  Penny

Yes Nana, I am from West Virginia. I recently went to my first WVU Basketball game. The picture is of me and my husband. We love our Mountaineers here in the hills. I am looking forward to many fun years of quilting.  Thanks Penny

What is Reader close to?  I don't think I have heard of that town before.   Isn't those WV hills the greatest.  I loved my time living there and still enjoy going back to visit.  The Mountaineers will always have a special place in my heart.

Hi Penny,   I had to look Reader up.  Looks like you're not too far from New Martinsville.  I'm south of you just a few miles from Parkersburg,WV.   Welcome to the club!
