I am from Des Moines, IA, although I was born in Danville, IL. I have only been quilting since 1999. I work fulltime, so don't have as much time to quilt as I'd like. I used to try to turn out a quilt a month, but now at 58, I'm luck if it's 4/year.

I was given a small magnetic bowl that works great for those stray feet, pins and small scissors. The bottom is weighted so it does not tip over or slide off the table. I think my daughter found it in the automotive department of a hardware store. Thanks Lisa for the idea.

I got my magnetic bowl at the auto parts store, it think they have way stronger magnets in them than the ones you buy for sewing.
