This morning a lady from church who lives three doors down asked me if I wanted some fabric... she's renovating her house and needed to get rid of stuff and if I didn't  take it it would be donated to a yard sale.  I tried not to seem too anxious but an hour later I was picking up three boxes of some great fabric and batting.  Some of the fabric was ready to make quillows with and when my DD saw some of it she got all excited so...  I made her a quillow!  My first!  I even did some large stippling on it which for me is a stretch still.  I told her it wasn't very good work but she said, "It looks good to ME!!"  Love that girl :o)  My July scrappy still waits to be worked on along with other UFOs, but my Maddie is real happy with her quillow.

My dear Maddie has also decided she likes my MQV and would like it for her very own with some matching pillowcases.  It's still just a top, folded neatly on a hanger ... maybe by Christmas.

Rachel

Love the bag you made.  This pattern is so great and goes together so easily.  I love mine and get comments on it everytime I carry it.

Thanks Susie, it was real easy... 2 yards front ,2 yards back, batting and a double sided 18" square pocket.  You'll be done before you know it!  :)

Thank you Leslie.  She's actually one of my ex-step dd's so I can't take any credit for her beauty =D

Well, last weekend, my daughter and I FINALLY got to sit down and get some quality sewing done, together.

She did a wonderful job on it and at 11 1/2 yrs old, she has a pretty bright future in sewing/quilting.  Love hearing stories where moms and daughters connect with doing projects like this.  Be sure and post yours when it is done - love your color combination.

How great this is, Debbie!  I used to make quiillows for the grand kids and they absolutely loved them.  To stick their feet inside the pillow pouch  while curled up with the quillow watching TV was the most fun to watch.  I think I need to make them for the little DGGD's.  Their mama would get a kick out of it.

Maddie looks very proud of her quillow.  Great job!
